DO you think there are two types of books basically?

Type one is one that deals for the most part one line too all the players and does not punish a player for betting a posted number.
These books have high limits and are for the most part on DonBest.

Type two shades the line towards the favorite and throws out players/severely slashes limits if you take the underdog.

So I guess the first type takes on wiseguys and the second type doesn't want anyone other than those who are suckers.

What are some of the highest posted limits of most books and what are the actual amounts they will take on a game on various sports?

There are a few that take on on comers. Then there are the BOOKS that SHADE the PUBLIC. This group makes up about 90% or more of all the OFFSHORE INDUSTRY.

Like it or not, these BOOKS are in it for the $. Plain and simple.

Depends on the sport, and sometime the player. NFL limits are the highest for American bookmakers, with many having 20 dime limits on sides. Some players get more, especially if they are square/whale types. Another way to get more is ask a line manager how much he wants at a certain number. A book that is high to on a side may take more to even out a chart in these cases.

And yet we find ourselves complaining when they CUT LIMITS or BOOT winners. Why is that?

I don't understand how a book can boot a winner. I would like for poster to list if and by who they have been booted by because they won. It is the stupidest thing I ever heard. Hire a clerk and bet each persons that is winnings games for more money and grow a set of balls.

This is how it is ......

SQUARES lose 70K the month of MAY

SHARP win 25K the month of MAY

BOOK profits 45K the month of MAY

BOOT the SHARP and the BOOK now PROFITS 70K....

Simple its all in the MATH..............

Borat,

I have been booted from a few books and limited at others. I don't complain about these actions because they are just protecting themselves. These are the less intelligent ones IMO, though.

The lowest level of intelligence is to have bad lines management and not even recognize that you are getting beaten. These will stiff people and go out of business with 100% certainty.

The medium level of intelligence is to have bad lines management but at least realize that there are sharper people out there and either do unethical things like deal dual lines, do the last second switcheroo, or do it more ethically and just limit/boot which amounts to playing cat and mouse games. These will survive and some (like Bodog) will even prosper for a while until things get regulated and/or squares get educated.

Then there is the highest level like Pinnacle, WSEX, Betfair, Olympic which take on all comers and can do so profitably because of their superior lines management and integrity. These guys figure to survive and prosper for a long, long time.

REGULATION wont happen in the next DECADE or so. And as far as the SQUARE getting EDUCATED, well that would be like cleaning up all the CRACKHEADS in the WORLD. It just aint gonna happen.

These BOOKS will continue to set the RULES and do as they please.

The key is like DARRYL said stay with the PROVEN LEADERS, and you should have no problems..............
