Way down. The bill to protect America's ports from online poker players has crushed the poker momentum.

Again, if anyone thinks poker is losing popularity, visit Florida..............I will be on a 30 minute waiting list at Derby Lane today.........and they have about 30 tables.

Keeps the sun off your head. Most poker players are not really cool. Most are book worms and bank geeks. What gets me is how some people consider them to be clelebrities now.

looks like its really cool to wear hats while you play poker.....

In the US i would say its on a slight decline from the peak (which was way too high to maintain) while around the world it is gaining popularity rapidly and bringing new money into the game.

been down to derby lane in tampa once and was amazed at how packed their poker room is every day.

at some of the casinos in detroit and buffalo, they dont even have enough entries to fill their daily tournaments.

but it doesn't matter if its a monday or tuesday at 1pm in the afternoon, the tables are filled at derby.

I can't imagine anyone actually really wanting to sit down and play poker when the game is saturated with guys like Hellmuth, Matasow and Mihn "The Master" all bragging about how great they are and how they're the undefeatable king of the universe.....besides the loudmouth arrogance, there's all the crying over bad beats or ranting over someone staying and raising a weak hand because they're the ones to get beat by it. Then there's all the delays and walking away from the table......DQ these fucking losers if they walk away from the table already.

I quit watching the WSOP after every show started featuring the same lowlifes wailing about misfortune instead of appreciating the money that has been added to the game and to thier pockets through the popularity the game has achieved.

Can't be more than a year or two before these guys start getting intros like the WWF, and they come out thumping thier chests and ripping off thier shirts.

Somebody else can waste thier time watching these morons and thier childish antics.
