Do you think Dany Heatley really deserves this rap ?

Do you think this guy really deserves to be facing 15 years for this ?

On the one hand, yes he did something very stupid driving 80 MPH ( probably more). Yes he was speeding and it cost a guy his life but we all know this was an accident and he probably feels worse than anyone. Do you believe an accident like this ( even if the guy was speeding) should put a guy away for 15 years and make him a convicted felon ?

I know he probably wont get the full 15 - but he may get 5 which is more than most rapists get. This was an accident and I know we have all driven 80 before.

I THINK EVERY CAR SHOULD BE BUILT WITH A SORT OF A BLACK BOX, JUST LIKE PLANES, SO WE CAN SEE WHAT HAPPENED JUST BEFORE IMPACT.

Yeah. I would agree with you on that but I dont think it is likely that heatley was driving thinking in that type of a reckless manner. After all, he was in the car and it could have just as easily been him who died. The police said 80 mph and that isnt even very fast. I cant believe we havent all gone 80 mph.

I think Heatley will get the minimum, if he has a clean blood screen. Speeding while irresponsible is not per se a major taboo like DUI. He is probably suffering more than anyone already over this. Depending on the circumstances, like no booze, or drugs, I hope he gets a break.

It's true that we've all gone over 80 miles an hour, but you have to see this road - it's only a few miles from where I live. Full of hills, only one lane each way, I think posted speed limit is like 40 mph. It's one thing to do 80 mph on the interstate, it's completely reckless to do it on that kind of road. Unfortunately, Snyder paid with his life.

I think Heatley has to pay the consequences be they what they may. tragic all the way around.

i think heatley shouldn't be punished at all. he did nothing wrong. snyder deserved to die. heatley should be welcomed back with open arms and allowed to play as soon as healthy and all charges against him should be dropped.

did i fail to mention heatley is on my fantasy hockey team?

to show you boys how big Heatley is and how good he was. Today, while I was out shopping, I went to buy the NHL EA Sports 2004. And usually, the best player is always on the cover once a year for the game. They only put the stars on the cover. And guess who was on this years NHL 2004 cover.. You got it.. Dany Heatley. That's how good this guy is.. and his career is all now but over. Poor kid. This kid was the next superstar in hockey.. Man, to be on the front cover of this game in this country is a big honor. You have to be really good, and this kid was.. Man, I can't wait to play this game now.. Time to open the box and play some hockey.

I don't live in Georgia,what is the typical sentence for something like this? DId he have a lot of speeding tickets?

I am sure he is not the first person to speed in Georgia and the passenger died? What is the typical sentence? He better have a fairly clean driving record.

I don't like being judgemental but he should have had the sense not to drive. Man, he has the loot to take a taxi when he drinks.

I don't care what sentence they hand down, the real "horror" will be living with the consequences of killing someone the rest of his life!

if you have ps2 and the cable modem...we could possibly play each other. The game is pretty good..alot better than last year.
