Isaac and Ishmail. Isaac goes on to inherit much of what we now know as the West Bank, and Ishmail goes on to spend millenia fighting to get his half. Had the Christians just stayed out of it, the feud may have been contained.
One of my best friends is an Iraqi. His culture is radically different from mine, although (believe it or not) Iraq is/was one of the more socially progressive countries in the MidEast. However, I would never love him so much as to date him ... no matter how progressive Iraq may be, I can't imagine getting involved with someone who comes from a culture where 14 children is the norm. Good god.
