Agree I won't pick up pennies, I would if there were enough to shovel them into 5-gallon buckets, and truck them away, but not a few stray cents.
The mint makes hundreds of millions of them annually, pretty soon they won't be made any longer.
I'm very knowledgable about numismatics. They are not pennies, they are cents, pennies is an English term.
They aren't even copper, since 1982, production cost is close to face value, once it costs over 1 cent to make a cent, there won't be any more made, unless they find something cheaper than zinc (plastic ? )to make them from ! They used to be almost as large as half-dollars until the mid 1850's
