Very very seldom do I have any significant amount of money in Neteller.

Whats the point?

I like to have my money working for me.

I have no worries about keeping 5 figures at Neteller, although as Fish and others have said, it's better to to put that money to work somewhere.

Just look at the number of entries they have in the various draws and you can see that 10k is a drop in the bucket for them. Being based in Canada also makes it harder for them if they ever decide to pull a PanAm-type stunt. I'd consider them safe if I were you.

NETELLER IS TOTALLY SAFE. I HAVE A GOOD RAPPORT WITH A FEW GUYS OFFSHORE AT THE SHOPS IVE BEEN USING FOR YEARS AND HAVE TALKED ABOUT NETELLER WITH THEM AT TIMES. MOST SAY AND I BELIEVE THEM THAT THEY HAVE MORE THAN 100-DIME BALANCES IN THERE. YOUR BALANCE SEEMS FINE.

Neteller is a great service, but NO, I do not like to use as a bank.

I feel perfectly safe with one or two K there. I agree it's not a bank and that money should be working, but like to have some $ available for immediate deployment. Would never use instacash and pay 8.9%.

WoodyO: You don't have to pay the 8.9% fee for instacash if you use a book that pays either a percentage of the fees, like most do, or for free like WSEX. Then deposit the money back into Neteller for your use.

Just like an offshore book, only leave enough in Neteller that you can afford to lose. Otherwise, keep it in your bank until you wish to transfer funds.

Definitely keep most of your funds in a bank or savings account and use Neteller as your transfer agent only. Maybe leave 4 or 5 regular bets in Neteller for emergency situations, but no more than that. I am surprised though Neteller doesn't offer the interest paying option that PayPal does. If it did that I would be more inclined to leave some funds in there, but I am guessing regulatory issues might make it tough for them.

That's exactly the issue. They don't have a bank license and I believe that's why they offer their lottery as an alternative.
