I don't buy into any of the fear mongering that GMO foods are bad for you, and science backs me up that. But I do like organic produce especially tomato's because I think they taste better. I also shop a lot at Trader Joes, and Whole Foods because I like their business models and quality. I like their politics, plus they pay and treat their employees pretty good. The CEO of Whole Foods is a Libertarian and Rand Paul's biggest donator, so I like to support them, plus they have great products. Trader Joes products are tasty too. Both of these stores have healthier options too, that have nothing to do with GMO/Organic.

Some of the anti-GMO crowd is alarmist/elitist. I don't think it is as bad for you as people say but to say the science doesn't show it is bad for you is misleading.

Look at how they went after Dr Oz. He says GMOs are bad and they try to portray him as a snake oil salesman with industry funded "studies"

maybe only pseudo-science

Even GMO scientists and Monsanto scientists won't eat GMO's or let their family eat it. But I am sure its safe.

scott,

I don't doubt your opinion and facts whatsoever.

It is just so hard for me to see the benefit of avoiding them and more importantly trying to eat 100% organic/natural/etc especially since many foods claiming to not contain "___", probably do, and many more are mislabeled to mislead consumers. It would be hard to prove you are 100% on board with actually eating the way you intend unless you run your own farm...

I suffer from chronic gout and started trying to eliminate hormones from beef, chicken, etc. Been doing this for a few years and feel much better and dont feel as much pain. I dont love the customers but love while foods and trader joes. The butchers at whole foods are cool and i really do like the grass fed beef better than say safeways.

I'm no scientist so I can't really argue. I do know the majority of reputable scientist say they are safe, and I do know most of the anti-GMO stuff has been debunked as alarmism. I also brush my teeth with fluoride, vaccinate my children, and think climate change is real. Until there's hard science that says otherwise.

Trader Joes gluten free waffles are the best out there even if you dont care about gluten. Toast em twice and they are so crisp. My girlfriend is vegan, gluten free, gmo free etc. I love food an cooking so it is a huge buzz kill and forget about going out to dinner. I think eating quality foods is good. Its kind of like drinking a good liquor as opposed to the cheap stuff you will in most cases feel a little better.

90% of my food shopping is from Whole Foods. Especially dairy, meats, and fruits & veggies.

When your corporate response is right out of the big tobacco 101 playbook then something is wrong. No labeling allowed, industry funded "studies", where have we seen this before?

There have been plenty of studies showing health improvements for people off of GMOs.

Trader Joes and Whole Foods are awesome though. The majority of their foods taste better and are healthier. I still buy stuff from traditional markets too though.

Hard not to go to tradional markets. When i see somebody doing their entire grocery shopping at whole foods it costs them a fortune. I dont need organic toilet bowl cleaner lol
