Do you believe in the MUSH jinx?

You know that if certain unlucky bettors tail your play it is now doomed to lose. Seems like a lot of gamblers believe in this. To me it's just a way for gamblers to make excuses when they lose, and that it doesn't exist at all.

My wife actually believes in it in Blackjack and will walk away from a blackjack table if the someone on the table is hitting 16's against a 6, or staying 12's against a ten. She thinks they're Mushing the table.

They're myths perpetuated by movies like "Bronx Tales" or "The Cooler."

Coolers - Exist - ever stood at crap tables and some wonk comes up and throws a benjamin down in the middle of a hot run and next roll 7 out seen happens way to often.

As for Mushes - if a mush likes your play buy it back....... if you get a PM or prodding in your thread "what do you like" and end up forcing something then yes Mushes exist

You never see the O.P responding to certain posters/mushes for a reason. In hopes that they can take a hint eventually. You also will notice that most mushes and coolers do not believe in mushes or coolers. It is what it is.

Sure. But it's not used as an excuse after losing, generally before the game. There are some friends of mine, and posters here and elsewhere, and touts, that when they are on the same game I'm on, or would be on, it causes me to think twice, or say damn before the game. I won't change sides, but I might lower or eliminate my bet, or be uneasy about my bet after it was made. There are some people that lose consistently, just like there are some that win consistently over time. Better to tail the winners, and fade the losers, more often than not, no? Most of us will be in the 48-52% range over time. Some are in the 42-45%, or the 55-58%.
I agree with your wife at the Black Jack table. There's no science to it. But if you're uncomfortable at the table, move.
