RLM takes place when a large majority of bets are on one team, yet the line moves in the opposite direction.

my belief in RLM is that if you Can't find a normal reason for the move, Like Injuries, Key Player being Benched, there's something going on with the wagering on that game.

I think it's best to use this in Baseball, but other Sports are good as well.

I used to believe in it,,, not anymore,,, the scalpers and middlers have become prolific the last 10 years,,, everytime I see it,,,, its just a buyback,,, NOW,, conversely, when a line has moved significantly and I DONT SEE a RLM,,, lol,,, it may be a bad line, but you have a dam good side to play.

I think it's virtually worthless... Something the 'anti-pubic' people use to justify their losses.

Betting into RLM is worthless if at the end of the day you're not beating the closing line

I use it in my handicapping....

1. Early in mid week - I use it differently than on the weekend when recreational betters get involved.
2. I track it from over night up to game time time
3. I use it like Bet All said - After handicapping the game & there is no obvious reason for the movement I track the movement up to game time - If it does not swing back around I will usually bet it
4. I agree with what Tatehill said - I use to think I was being smart by betting dogs, but now I am interested in runaway Fav's or teams Favored - especially in series bets - I crushed the NBA & NHL finals by taking the Spurs and Kings.
5. I would say that I think over the past 7 years more recreation bettors have left the game making it less important - for the past two years I have relied more on my handicapping and over all line movement. I would say the last two years have been my most profitable

Further to what Tate says look at Minnesota today - after handicapping the game I cant justify the $.15 move on the Twins - But I'm interested in the outcome ;0
Further to what BetAll says why are the Pad's favored over the Dodgers now - lots of time still to go but the RLM has me scratching my head.

Information & Data is never useless you have to monitor it and use it to your advantage.

People do feel very strongly about it. One of my antipublic / RML friends does very well with basketball... props to BAS, rather perceptive to join those 2, I didn't realize my one friend was both until you said it.

I personally use it as a tool... If I see RML on a game I've already capped. If it's against me, I may play a little smaller.. If its with me, I may play it a little stonger...

However, during NFL Season I do everything I can to understand why it's moved. If I love a side and it has RML against it, dont care, I'm still going for it.
