Do you agree with radio stations/tv networks suspending employees for things they have said on the air?

Have seen this a ton lately.

I'm not sure I agree with it. What about free speech?

Further, if they want their employees to be puppets and only say the things that are politically correct how is that interesting?

It's been said 100 times on the RX. Free speech does not equal freedom of consequence. When you are on air, you represent your radio station.

Absolutely not. They hire guys to give their opinions and talk about controversial stuff. If you don't want your hosts to have opinions, then just hire straight news reporters and have them read the news. ESPN especially has been nuts lately.

Your paid to give your opinion and when you give an opinion that people don't like then they complain about it and you get suspended. Don't agree at all.

I would be fired within my first day on the mic or in the TV booth because I'm not politically correct......I usually mute the football games because the commentators don't sound too intelligent watching what they say is like tryinh to avoid walking on broken glass.

Still does not change it from being wrong.
