Good stuff. Thanks. Some great players. All we need now is a pitcher of Journyman by his keyboard giving his size and weight. Anyone else agree that we need a pitcher of Journey here for completion?

Everybody seemed smaller 40 years ago......and they probably were. BTW, I saw Harmon Killebrew play as a Senator and Frank Howard. Hondo was and still is my all-time baseball hero!

Frank “Home Run” Baker

5’ 11” 173lbs.

Before the Babe Home Run Baker led the majors in homers four straight years. From 1911 to 1914* Baker tallied a total of 42 homers.

*Tied with Tris Speaker of Boston with 10 in 1912

This guy hit 57 HR's in 2001. He has only hit over 30 one other year in his career (31 the year before...a whopping 90% power surge).

Here is the entire list of players who have hit 57 HR's in a season prior to 1997...

Roger Maris
Babe Ruth
Jimmy Fox
Hank Greenburg

:lolBIG: this one tops Brady Anderson.

I was going to mention him....I was watching the 1983 playoffs not too long ago, Luzinski looked much smaller than i remembered , still beefy but nowhere near what it seemed like back then...He was like the biggest, burliest guy in baseball.

:lolBIG: I remember thinking that but I think they were just really hairy.

Whenver Dodgers were on GOTW, Garvey's forearms would be mentioned with his first AB...got to be sickening along with his goody 2 shoe image.

Hack Wilson. Only 5'6", had arguably one of the greatest seasons in baseball history in 1930. .356 batting average, 56 homers, 191 rbi, 146 runs.

Doesnt get the recognition it deserves.
