Don't think they need caller ID because you're usually dialing a toll free number to get offshore. I believe if I'm not mistaken they can/do get a list of all the source numbers as part of the billing for the toll free number. In other words giving it the old *67 before dialing gets you nowhere.

They have caller ID and you can't block it
no matter what you do unless you pay for the
call. Any toll-free number you dial you
are subject to caller ID even if your
phone service is to block all calls.

Hey Dante - you're not blocking anything
by using *67. They still get to see the
number if you call on THEIR toll-free
line. Only way to successfully use *67
is to call the regular local number.
You can't block a call if you don't pay
for the cost of the call.

Crap books do it to players they aren't paying or when someone like me calls them constantly trying to get people paid. Like they said dialing *67 does not work on 800 numbers (866/877 etc...), they block me all the time.

Dante - don't know about anyone else but I don't get calls at home either. The only book that has called me is First Fidelity and they have stopped now that I asked. I use #67 to hide who it is calling when I am asking about someone's money. They don't want to speak to me usually, I don't use it to not get call backs.

Maybe I am lucky but books don't call me at home either other then the exception above.

*67 Does not work on 800 numbers. Try calling FF with *67 and accidentally hang up. They will call back saying you got disconnected. The books that have and I know for a fact use caller ID are : Heritage, First Fidelity/Payoffs Plus, DSI/Get More-these are all Costa Rica books. I'm unsure if the technology is available at other locations.
