They would get middled and have their clerks do nothing but rundowns all day waiting for orders from syndicates to come out.

Thanks Judge but that's what working in the industry before Don Best was "real time" instead of a dial up service was like for those that recall pre-95 with Al alive.

Do they care? Fvckin A the clone ones do..

They are dead in the water without it without a clue what to do. Just read what chips says in his thread and I agree.

The funny thing is,moving off action is not brain surgery.pretty simple game. And actually more fun.It requires thought.

Krackman,

All the followers don't have a clue what to do either since most just play at books that haven't moved an order yet. A book will just move off an incoming bet while Don Best is down but the follower is scambling for what to play.

They all care but the better line-movers would not miss a beat without it! In fact the good shops only use it for a base!

I personally prefer when Don Best is down, I make the most money when its down, if you are a hard worker with a clue its great, 1 drawback is that the volume goes down, but for me the hold was higher.

Sure, a 'real' book would care- They will be stuck taking on the 'real' wiseguys that really do not care about the screen.

You have your super sharp guys, and, of course, you will have your super suckers- but you don't have any of the pseudo-wiseguy screen hawks(a.k.a clone gamblers) to take any buyback. Unfortunately, these players don't call to get rundowns, becasue they dont know what they are looking for.

Why are books on screen? It is one simple reason, to put the product on the market. Why would they PAY to be on there is they did not need it?

Don Best being down kills action.

Don Best gentlemen is the great equalizer..It levels the playing fields..Does a flying Zucchini fly without a net..No..On the high wire you always fly with a net..Without Don the entire landscape will change..The advantage is to the player who needs to find the right # for the game he is playing..If the stock market ticker and info system went out nobody would know the proper price for a stock that they would want to purchase at that particular moment..Prices fluctuate..
