Once the work / job mandate is signed, then it may change.

There are exceptions of course.....aka child care.....but maybe vouchers for that. It also will benefit the kids in poverty.

Oh yeah the more kids they have the more money they get - which is still peanuts - but down here in terms of housing we have 4 bed vouchers paying $1800 - the rents went up a decent amount the last couple of years
The govt. shouldn't be in the business of subsidizing babies anyway.Cut it off at 2 kids and tell them they can have as many as they want but Uncle Sam isn't footing the bill after 2 and see how many they have after that.

I hope that makes sense , i can explain better if i had more time
No
Once again Metro, it doesn't make sense. Economic success is not random. Half of the US population pays no tax and receives govt. assistance, whether it be welfare or food stamps or whatever. Your pie in the sky solution assumes economics are random and in any given family half would be full time tax paying workers and the other half govt. dependents. That is far, far from the truth. Please read this post again before you propose your ignorant plan. I don't mean "ignorant" as an insult, I mean "ignorant" as in it's literal definition of lacking knowledge or awareness in general; uneducated or unsophisticated

In Oregon, a heart-warming story appeared in the Oregonian newspaper. Written from a liberal's point of view. I teared up a little, but still was able to read between the lines. The story was about a 23 year-old woman (white) on "assistance". 2 kids. She was going to college on the taxpayers' dime. Taking math and "READING"?? There' College level reading now? Failing the math class, but passing "Reading". Living in a 2 bedroom rental house. Typical rent for that type of house is about $1400. But she's in "subsidized housing". According to the article, it's sad, but she can barely afford the rent....later in the article we find that HER share of the rent is $35. THIRTY-FIVE DOLLARS A MONTH!! Ya know why they make her come up with the $35.00? Because if they didn't charge her anything, they'd have to call it "FREE HOUSING" and that would really piss off the taxpayers.

I have a lot of tenants that have zero copay

The same people I come I to contact with have used unemployment social services, Obamacare, and disability checks. It bothers me when they talk down on people using food stamps or welfare. It's hypocritical. We live in the age of modern racism where this hypocritical attitude is actually l
Perpetuating negative stereotypes of Individuals of color receiving government assistance. Americans pay taxes for a host of social services but is much easier to talk down on different groups who don't line up with our hardworking, "American ideals". Rarely would we see racists outwardly project their views however our President has given permission to U.S. citizens to say whatever comes to their minds. I believe in 1st right amendment but why the anger and hurtful comments? The ease and comfort from aggressive expression is temporary my friends. I am actually grateful I have the time to sit around and complain about the "sad state of affairs", today. I'm not sure why it is troublesome for people to understand funding is in place for a reason across many different fields.

I'm all for a safety net BIlls68, I'm opposed to welfare being a career choice. There's plenty of fraud and abuse with the the system, and it some families it's actually managed like a business, when their daughters get pregmant and young ages to increase the household income. It's real, it's happens, and just about every inner-city educator can attest to that. Even the very liberal democratic educators I know 1st hand.

We have a system that rewards teen pregnancies, and then encourages young couple to not get married lest they want to lose their benefits. Our policies have destroyed the fabric on the inner-city family, hence those neighborhoods are in the state of decline.
