Do Gamblers Actually Believe in Jinx?

I can remember years ago when I would call up a friend of mine and he had a wager on a game, he would say to me all the time everytime I"m on the phone something always happens bad, I would tell him you are superstitious. I guess if I didnt believe in God I would belive in jinx.

Yes...at the craps table if a shooter is rolling hot...you watch...this will happen....whenever hot shooter throws the dice off the table...next roll...crap out...happens every time.

ace that does seem to happen alot but really gotta chalk that up to you no paying as much attention when it DOESNT happen.....similar to when you backdoor cover something, you dont remember those as much as you do the ones when it goes against you, just human nature...

No, absolutely not. Talk of jinxes is ludicrous!! Unfortunately, my inner consciousness doesn't know that and I can't seem to help my inner consciousness much these days. I actually have a silly saying I phrased similar to knock on wood. It helps me feel better, LOL. Try it, its fun to say:

jinx jinx jinx turn around turn around jump three times. LOL

In all of my years working at a book, I was told two things:

1. never say to a gambler,"good luck".
2. never pay someone with $50 bills.
