Actually I can back all of it up. Whether it gets deleted or not I don't know. It's all true. Shrink is a friend of Don Best so it probably will but everything is verifiable.

the clerks at don best do not bet except for 5 to 10 dollar parlays during their lunch break. dana and rick do not bet at all and have a very strict policy about betting from the office. the phone lines are monitored for their protection. so jj unless you have the facts don't bother speaking

There are two accusations being made here:
1) That DonBest employees are wagering during work hours.
Answer: Not likely. Besides policy by the owners, the office is set up as open space with desks. No cubicles. No place to "hide". Employee could not do what is suggested without every knowing

2) That the employees deliberately delay the lines so they can get bets in.
Answer: Nope. It doesn't work that way. Everything is handled by high-speed computers with a wicked amount of data flowing in. Any delays can be attributed to slow connection/computers from the sportsbook side or just general slowness on the internet. There is no opportunity for a person to "slow down" the lines from a book while he get in a play.

These post from JJ look like he is trying to get in good with a DonBest competitor. Hey, Competitor, you are not only betting on the wrong horse, but on its backside!

I am big on the rx line service Java,

It is very easy to manipulate numbers on the DB screen.

Very simple example

Employee ****** has a side deal with sportsbook******** to hold the line change up and bang them hard all over before it hits the screen. Boys very easy to do.

Anyway some good posts in this thread regardless of what you believe.

The facts I stated are true. I guessed since Shrink is paid by Don Best that he would delete anything damaging. JJ is correct that numbers can be changed. It rarely happens. More often in the past information was held up to benefit the big books. Nowadays the information is so late or so bad it doesn't matter anymore. Don Best rarely gets anything first. They have mainly have a bunch of walking robots who have to ask permission to go to the bathroom. Since the FBI has cracked down on them they are much more cautious about doing anything. In the past though things were held up, big books called, bets placed, etc. As JJ has said - Don Best is on it's way out. Either forced by the FBI or by their own greedy ways.

I did already - If you notice my post was edited by Don Best's friend Shrink. So why do I want to waste more time when it will get deleted? What I said is true. It is impossible to get the truth stated in here with my posts being deleted. And remember I didn't start this discussion. I was just clearing up the facts.

I have heard FBI rumours and DB too!!!

They have a mini syndicate going in betting certain games before the change hits the screen. I am usually right about most things and this one I am certain of.

Secondly the DB service is old news anyway and many bettors now just keep the sportsboks themsleves open and refresh because they are the only real time lines, not DB or any other service, there is no such a service.

Charlie Maxwell,

1st hand experience. When Al (R.I.P.) was there, sometimes I would move a line, then it would immediately be moved back. I would do it again, same result. This was not a technical glitch. They didn't want me tipping off there plays. It must be noted that this was in 1995 or so.

I don't know about today, but when Shark (professional handficapper/gambler) and Bill (gambler) were there with Al (Professional gambler, last man entered into Las Vegas' "black book" right after Tony Spilotro) they ran Don Best basically as a cover for their gambling activities. I don't think it was untill the college educated, internet savvy Dana took over, and offshores started taking off, that the true potential of Don Best was realized.

No JJ, not easy to do. The line updates are handled AUTOMATICALLY by the computer as they come in from the books. There is no access for the employees to alter this. The head programmer has his hands full keeping the system up an running smoothly. If anyone even attempted what you are claiming, the system would crash.

Think of it this way: It's like assuming a regular phone clerk can alter the line at a book. Nope! Only the managers at the front stage can.

If lines got delayed, the books would be all over DonBest. BigCity used to get bent out of shape when a slow internet connection caused a 5 second delay (they would move lines to see how fast the updates occurred and never saw any delays beyond normal internet traffic problems).

What may or may not have occurred in the pre-Dana era is irrelevant to the unfounded accusations being made about the current operation. DonBest is run more ethically than any of the books they service.
