Do any states use a shot clock in High School basketball?

If the defense wants the ball, they can apply pressure, get a 5-second call, create a turnover, etc.

Just because the offense wants to hold the ball, doesn't mean the defense needs to stand there and watch.

In high school, if a team is so overmatched that it would considered holding the ball, it's also very likely that it wouldn't be good enough to hold the ball. Milwaukee Vincent, one of the better Wisconsin teams over the past 10 years, regularly holds the ball in the final minute or two of each quarter to get the last shot.

Not really true at all. We played a team in Super-sectional when I was in HS that we beat twice by over 20. They knew they couldn't beat us straight up so they held the ball all game. Tough to defend a team that has no shot clock and isn't looking to score. We chased them all over the floor. We won, final score in the 30's and 3/4 of our points were from our point guard at the line caused they just hacked all game so we could never get into an offensive set.

They make a few shots, they win...simple as that.
