Carter was a great man and compared to the present administration he belongs on Mount Rushmore.

It's going to be like the last time the Dems had to clean up after a Bush.

Check out Reaganomics. Might be able to google it. The country flourished like no other time period in our history, including the tech boom of the Clinton years.

What did Reagan do that was so great?

The exact opposite of everything that Obama is about to do.

I won't argue much with Reagonomics!

I had posted about it before.

Reagonomics:

1. reduce the growth of (non-military) government spending,
2. reduce marginal tax rates on income from labor and capital,
3. reduce government regulation of the economy,
4. control the money supply to reduce inflation.

Other than step 2, where did Bush do well?! Why am I supposed to think McCain could do any better?

STEAK, those were the golden years

Got my first coochie, smoked my first doobie, dropped my first hit of acid, drank my first brew, got my second coochie, graduated in the top 10% of my high school class of 900, tried college and learned it was smarter for me to go to work, got my third coochie, made my first sports bet, lost, made my second sports bet, won - and here I am 30 years later.....

What a great time - 1977-1980

oh and I also wrote a bit for The Onion, which was just getting it's interstate edition going in Texas about 1979

McCain knows he cannot repeat what Bush has done. His ability to work bipartisan should be enough to make you at least think he is not a tunnel vision mongrel.

The information presented by Obama about him voting with Bush is very misleading. Most of the votes (about 90%) are just procedural votes where you basically vote with your party, and in about half of those situations both parties are voting the exact same way.

I feel that by BO voting present as many times as he did was a calculated measure knowing that he could use this against any Repub if he were to win the Dem nomination.

Carter caught the post Vietnam inflation (it happens after every war) then came the Arab oil embargo. He made some mistakes but he was dealt a rough hand. He had some decent programs that were designed to free our dependence on foreign oil. Every one was canceled by Regan.

Carter Inherited a screwed up economy and did some things to start it on the road to recovery.

Bush on the other hand stole an election in Florida and got a country in very good shape. In 8 years he has wrecked it in every way imaginable.

Do you remember Bill Clinton coming on TV 25 days after he was sworn in and said something like..

"ALthough I promised not to raise taxes during the election, things are worse than I anticipated, so therfore Im going to have to do what I said I wouldnt..."

ANd then he wacked everyone very hard. Thank god for the Internet and a true global economy.

Like I said, I am having Deejavu...I wonder what Obamas excuse is gonna be when anyone that makes ANY income gets taxed.
