DLO: not to hijack your thread but read this on another forum and thought it was great info for this tourney. Not sure if you had already knew.

GL this week

This is the first 1000 Event of the season and it is played in the desert basically.

Very slow Plexiwave surface which could favor Claycourters so be aware of the fact this is Hard surface because it is very very slow (look on YouTube for some highlights of past years and you will know what I mean).

Never like here weather conditions are more important: check humidity, wind and temperature regularly before placing a bet. If the wind is blowing big time big servers may disadvantage from it especially considering the fact the surface is slow.

So far I have only some interesting news from Anastasia Rodionova who said that it is "freezing in Indian Wells, should've taken my winter clothes from Russia" which sounds surprising and could be a big factor for guys who dislike the heat and humidity (Djokovic comes to mind) if the conditions remain stable.

Bottom line, constantly check weather conditions and do not think of this as a fast surface because it is the slowest hard on tour.

thx for the info :103631605...any information is very much appreciated!

I basically use speed ratings from different tennis websites to see what the court speed is. For the IW (0.78), it rated higher than the asian hard courts (0.7) and lower than the typical european indoor hard courts (0.84).

all three loses were in 3 sets. lacko is a mental midget who can't close a match and oudin/cornet simply did not show up in the final set ^<<^
