How in the hell can you not have ABC? That makes absolutely no sense at all.

That is why we had to change to direct.

Dish lost ABC in a lot of markets noting they were gauging.

When my wife couldn't watch dancing with the fucking stars we made the switch.

You guy's are not getting it.

Here in Seattle as in certain other cities as of Dec 2008 Dishnetwork's contract expired with some of ABC local affiliates.

ABC wanted an exorbitant price increase, how do I know this because when we tuned into channel 4(ABC channel) there were two guys talking 24/7,a tape of course ,about why we no longer have ABC.

One of the things they stated was for us to call their sponsors and complain.

Direct TV advertised on radio now is the time to switch........NO ABC

ABC is a free to air channel that most people can get with rabbit ears, so it seems totally weird that it isnt included on the most basic of dish packages.

not being able to offer it at all is absurd?

When I was signing up with direct the guy told me this would not happen with them as they would channel it via L.A. or some other city.

Dish needs to get on the stick as when I went to UPS store to send back their receivers the clerk said they have been getting a ton of these.

i got abc on my dish

Congratulations.

Now on to more intelligent conversation. We had the same thing happen to us with Fox. The contract expired and the Dish company kept telling us to call Fox and complain about how much Fox wanted and then Fox would tell us to call and complain about the Dish's unwillingness to pay Fox.

the problem is much bigger,on top of that , dish network lost a lawsuit and were forced by the FCC to stop selling remote networks, as the local networks complained that they were losing market

what you have to do is call this company www.mydistantnetworks.com and go through them, they charge about 10 dollars/month or so and you get abc/cbs/nbc/fox from New York and also from San Francisco

btw as you can guess all this is a facade for dish network as they 'lease' the transponders to this company who THEN sells then to you, all in all more $ but its doable (I have that setup myself)
