yes you get all the local channels including new england sports broadcasts both fsne and nesn. should only be 40 per month for all that plus a ton of other channels

it puts digital cable to shame, when you consider DTV is the only true 100% digital broadcast

the sportspack which is all the channels in the 600's only runs 10 bucks a month

im very happy with direct tv i cant say enough good things about them. they install for free each time, and each time theyve done a great job.

Sherman- Your locals depend on where you live. The are available almost everywhere now, but there still are some places that they are not. You should call them to find out for sure.

I have had verizon DSL and direct TV as my combo for 4 years running I just couldnt be more pleased with either. nothing but raves from me.

sherman if you are in new england youll see all the c's, sox and pats games in the basic package only 40 bucks per mos. plus someplace is always running a good promo for it. their customer service kicks ass too. ive called them dozens of times on nit picky things and they never let me down

You can get total choice thats about 150 channels. This has the music channels, all the espns, your local fox sports, all the news channels etc. You can add one movie package, your locals, and the sports package all for around 60 bucks a month. Do not get Dish Network, Directv is the clear choice for sports fans like you and me.
They have the rights for the NFL Sunday Pass, MLB baseball, NHL, and NBA if you are interested in those.

I dont now about the Northeast, but in Florida during the summer when the sky makes it look like Armageddon is upon us, you will lose the signal for awhile. Sports Packages are great except for the College Hoops in my opinion.

I too have Directv and Verizon DSL. Pray that you never have a problem with your DSL service, Verizon customer service is grossly understaffed and you'll be on hold and transfer for an extreme amount of time. Directv has excellent customer service, you can speak to a live rep usually within a minute.

Direct Tv is the best by far. The local channels cost an extra 5.99 per month. I'm looking forward to the NCAA tournament package hopefully helping me make some extra money.

Sherman right up your alley is Tenxtasy and Erotic network both 24 hours a day porn (Playboy is part of the package I think but not as racy as the other two). Direct Dish has them if you like that sort of thing (porn).

Funny you mention it like that. I will go days without turning either chanell on but once in a while it works as a nice ice breaker with the wife. Playboy late at nite can get a bit racy but the other two leave little to the imagination.
