cooney is a lefty debuting today for stl.....utley is a lefty, he routine gets days off after night games when it makes sense...hes also hitting .114 this season in full time action 70 at bats.
this team has no injuries right now that didnt exist couple days ago when Hamels beat STL as a +135 underdog or yesterday when they jumped out to a 2-1 lead that woulda been 3-1 lead in the 4th had REVERE (out today) not been gunned at the plate with 1 out during rally.......Not what u want from your fASTest player at top of lineup, Number 2 hitter gets a hit with RISP and leadoff speedster kills rally by getting gunned at plate instead of holding at 3rd base and having 2 on for your number 3 hitter.....Hes also a lefty and on the BENCH where he belongs today.
Ruiz went 4-4 in Hamels game couple days ago, he hasnt sniffed a hit since then, also belongs his fat-no green card having ass on the bench as well. Rupp is right handed thumper they acquired in a trade and makes sense starting day game after night game.
my only question is i saw this yesterday at +155, why in the world has line jumped 50-60 cents with no bad news or injuries with Cooney being a triple A veteran making debut? hes not noah syndergard, andrew heaney Tajuan walker, or some top level prospect
Overnight the line jumped 15-20 cents.....the 20-30 cents more in last hour is ludicrous. Incidentally ryan howard may be the worst position player dollar for dollar in league, but he hit a HR last night, and a 3 run bomb to give phils a win on sunday and he is heating up. He is from ST louis and has 11 HR there, and hits .350, thats right 3 FUCKING 50 in STL........we r talking about a guy who is in a race agianst time to strike out 200 times a year. he doesnt hit .250 anywhere anymore......
none of this matters though, Odubel hererra is their best player, and the real story here is whether Buchanan is more like his last start, 3 runs, or his awful 8 run ERA
not sure how cooney is -220....phils will still lose, they lose alogt, way more than they win, but the line makes no sense...perhaps a reason to fix the -1.5, +1.5 line....IE no one wants to lay the juice, bettors will play STl -1.5 to get good payout, and phils lose by 1 and satisfy books while still losing....i dunno, i never can figure out the best cheating angle, but that seems like best one to me

i went to a school named penn Charter in philadelphia, one of our league rivals is Malvern prep.......Cooney from St L graduated from malvern in 08 or 09 i think, im old -graduated in 95, but i am still connected to my HS sports to know Cooney was talented in HS, but not a major leaguer, he made the phils backups look like baseball legends. If there was anyway this kid had a chance to stay in mlb he is the perfect storm, a very hittable pitcher who pitches timidly with underpowering stuiff on an offensively talented team that frontruns a division. If there was anyway someone in cardinals brass saw soemthing they liked, I would thank G-d to get even 2 more Cooney starts. Theres a good chance he would be pitching following a win and Vegas favors hot teams.......He is an instant go against any time u see him, and even if u dont like the opposite side, his opponent over the run total will always be great bet.......or u just can prop bet any of the opponenets 3,4,5 hitters, total bases or similar props
all that being said, buchanan sucks and will be hit hard.....only way phils win this game is to take chances with a long reliever because cooney is gone and bleeding has been stopped, at the very least the phils will face MLB quality relief pitching now.
