Has anyone had any experience with a digital filter? I have one, and was thinking of trying it tonight, but I am concerned about having a problem with my box locking up. Should I give it a try? Any help on this would be appreciated...

Cable contractor right by my side says that if the filter interferes with the signal from the cable company to your cable box, then it will auto shut the connection at the box side of your house and you will have to call for tech support. Typically about 48-72 hours after the communication has stopped.

As far as I know, I don't believe there are any units available yet for digital. I do see some on ebay, but who knows if they really work. I was hoping someone who has a filter would say if it works or not. I am very skeptical about trying it.

The way my cousin (The contractor) was talking, you should be very skeptical about it. The cable company has devices in place to stop the filtering. They send scrambled signals to your box and your box un-scrambles. With the filter, your box will not function properly, which in turn will auto shut off your service @ your box and you will have to call support. This is all not 100% fact but from a good source.

Thanks General....I appreciate your advice. I relly thought there would be some out here who would have tried the filter and would have some feedback on it. Until I get some positive feedback, I wont use the filter. Once again, thanks.

My pleasure. I was fortunate to have my cousin here to help. He works in Nashville, Tenn now. Comes up to visit every other weekend. He's been in business for atleat 15 years, so I trust him.

Thanks TTinCO. I am just sorry I didn't know this before I ordered it. There are so many sites that sell them...you would think that they would work. Hopefully at some point they will come out with something for digital. Thanks again.

Thanks Bigboydan. I wish I could find out about how to get one of those units. I don't see anything on the internet yet, although I did see some boxes on ebay, but who knows if those units will work. Hopefully something will be available soon.
