Did you know the SEC fines its schools 50K if their fans rush the field?

And 11K per goal post they tear down? Ole Miss got fined 75K for fans rushing the field and tearing the posts down. Students and alum have already raised 86K.

What could possibly cost 50K?

I honestly think the 50K fine is trying to make schools have enough security to stop the fans from rushing the field. you have to figure quite a few injuries when people rush the field and nowadays, some lawsuits etc

I'm not sure how much extra security one would need to stop a stadium full of people from rushing the field. Seems impossible to stop imo.

I've just been working and taking a break from all of the forums. I still read them from time to time, and it appears not much has changed it seems. Some posters really need to leave the house once in awhile.

I think it bush that stadiums allow people to rush the field. I can remember in the Orange Bowl days when Joe Robbie would have police dogs on the field because god forbid someone tried taking down the goalposts and he had to pay to replace them. When I went to UF in the 80's, at the end of the game there was no way to rush the field without going to jail.

I can remember a Dolphins game in the early 80's where a fan wouldn't give the police a football that had gone into the stands on a FG attempt and the cops beat the fuck out of the guy with their billy clubs. Those were the days.
