I was talking to a fellow colleague at my university and he was joking about how Trump played the Republicans in the same way Obama played the blacks. (Is it okay if I say blacks? I'm not very formal and I mean no ill will towards any group, never have. I am new here and although I read the rules I don't want to be banned for an innocent mistake)
So I told my colleague that I voted for Trump and he mocked me. Saying I got fooled because Trump took a page out of Obama's book going for the black and minority vote to get elected. Trump in turn played for the redneck and middle class vote by playing on the most popular topics. Illegal immigration and terrorism. He called me naive and clueless for thinking Trump will actually build a wall or deport millions of Illegal Mexicans or Muslims. Why does every Democrat label a Trump supporter as a racist moron?
NO, I was not naive enough to think he would actually build a wall or deport millions of Mexicans or Muslims. That wasn't why my family and I voted for him. We don't want Muslims kicked out or prevented from coming in and if anybody believes Trump will do that I'd call them naive too. In fact Trump is already backing down on many of his extreme promises now that he's won and that was expected of course. We choose the lesser evil.
I voted for Trump because I want judges that will punish and deter not baby and rehabilitate and let out criminals on the streets to hurt us again, many times while on parole? I voted for Trump because I want the economy to improve for the less fortunate but ambitious and hard working. I want American money n jobs to stay in the U.S as much as possible and if greedy companies want to use cheap labour overseas than I want them taxed heavily for it. I want less hand outs for the lazy!
Most of all, I want the biggest issue corrected. This division across our country in recent years. I was born and raised in the U.S and never have I seen anything like this. We are so divided. Blacks vs Whites. Mexicans vs Whites. Republicans vs Democrats. People vs the fine policeman. And don't you dare defend those that hate on the police because of a few bad apples. Just like the Muslim population has a few bad apples doesn't mean we must fear them all. The same goes for the police. My brother died in the line of duty because he waited too long to pull the trigger. He did NOT want to take a life. But police protocol stated that he should've pulled the trigger. Now he's dead. This is many years ago. Yes he's dead and it was his choice not to pull the trigger I get that.
It baffles me how we don't see that black aren't going anywhere. Neither are whites.Neither are cops, neither are Muslims, neither are Republicans or Democrats. That's just the truth and everybody needs to accept that and not be delusional.
I see a lot of fellow Republicans celebrating and jumping up and down on this site. Just like when Obama won. It's not about shoving it in Democrats faces or vice versa when Democrats inevitably win again in the future, we still all have to work together. Just because we won doesn't mean the other people will just vanish off the face of the U.S. Why so much hatred back and forth? We have to come together and we have to unite. It's just like the workplace. Don't have to like you coworker but have to suck it up and get along to ensure productivity and efficiency. So if you don't like Republicans, or cops, or Democrats or Muslims or whatever, well suck it up and learn to get along and function in this society or maybe find another workplace/country.

The difference IMO between Trump and the Stuttering Clusterfuck is Trump is not a career politician. He didn't do this for some kind of financial gain...if that's what he was after, he would have been much better off staying in the private sector.

And by not being a politician, he isn't beholden to any special interests or lobbies. That's a Grand Canyon-sized difference between not just those two, but damn near Trump and everyone in Washington.

I'm just fed up with the backlash I've gotten with coworkers who learned I voted for Trump. I voted for who I voted for. Had Hilary won I would not have whined and moaned. I'd be disappointed and move on. Still have a life to live.

I'm tired of being labelled a racist because I voted for Trump. You won't believe it but I'm being shunned by many at my workplace since I divulged to who I thought was a good friend who I voted for. He went onto to spread it around the workplace. I've never been racist in my life. I respect everybody based on their character. I could care less what color their skin is, their religion or sex. I'm educated and well rounded and have always treated everybody the same. Somebody drew a pic of what was supposed to be me wearing a kkk hat. Mind you I work in a university with so called great minds. This is their childish behavior.

I think it's quite evident & crystal clear that a far greater percentage of those who voted AGAINST Donald Trump, did so for racial reasons.

The majority of Trump-voters are just sick of the same d BS & see things for what they really are.

A great percentage of Hillary-voters did so because they didnt want the white guy to win & knows Hillary was Obama's puppet...
