I don't necessarily disagree with his more conservative approach to the game and his choice to rely on his D, but when he chose to punt it away on that last 4th and 1 or whatever it was, it just had the feeling that he was going to the well one to many times. Me and a buddy of mine were saying how Carroll is like that old guy at the poker table who does everything you are not supposed to do takes you to the cleaners. USC was what 3-3 on 4th down conversions in the game? That seemed to be the difference to me, OSU's D feels good about getting the stop and USC goes for it and converts. I gotta think on that 4th and 1 on USC's 30-or-so with a 6'6" Prior a QB sneak gets the first down and changes the game. Again I am not saying Tressel made a bad call, but when you are coaching against a somewhat unorthodox coach like Carroll I feel like you have to take some chances that you normally wouldn't.
