Luke was what 40-5? Seems like that team is going to win with anyone as their coach. Yea they set a new record for the most wins but was it really because of anything Kerr did? Nice to see Luke get some votes lol http://www.nba.com/2016/news/04/26/steve-kerr-named-nba-coach-of-the-year-2015-16/
I think Brad Stevens finishing at 6th in the voting is just awful. Celtics were projected to be a lottery pick team this year, now they might make it pass the first rd. East overall was the tougher conference this year. Top teams are in the West but the bottom 4 playoff teams of the West were not as strong as in the past.

No, for God's sakes look at how stacked his team is. Look at how well his team was playing even when that clown Walton was coaching. Come on man!

I disagree and I've been watching the NBA for almost 40 years. It's the same thing with Phil Jackson and the Bulls and Lakers, when you have Micheal Jordan or Kobe Bryant or in Kerr's case, Curry who is lighting it up with a supporting cast that is incredible, so incredible that it's bench could beat many starters on a different team...you don't have to be a great coach to win a ton of games. Kerr isn't a great coach, not by any means. If you want to give him the coach of the year award for what the team accomplished this season, sure go ahead. Noway anybody's going to convince me he's a great coach or even a very good one.

He should have won it last year too. Who is better?

no . they had two coaches for a half year each ....that should have split the vote...Stotts had to incorporate 4 new starters...should have won it in a landslide

Phil was a unique case, because both times he had the best player duos (maybe of all time) on his team. BUT those duos also didn't/never won without him.
The best analogy I heard was Phil will beat anyone in a car race, as long as the race involves Lamborghini's. Phil was great a coaching/managing the superstars. But there are other coaches who are great at the x's & o's. Give Phil an average team, maybe he is an average coach. Give an average coach or x's & o's coach a good team and its a crap shoot on their success. NBA coaches main job is all about managing egos, get the wins with keeping everyone happy. Phil was great at keeping everyone in check. Even Rodman. Which that alone is probably what earned him coach of the year lol

Lol. I remember Rodman. What a headcase. I'll never forget when he kicked the cameraman when he fell out of bounds. His antics were something to behold.
