The book about Marcello I read seemed to indicate that Kennedy's Father used mob connections to help get JFK elected in 1960. After he took office, Kennedy and his administration pursued organized crime and this was the ultimate insult. To back stab the individuals who help him get elected. Combine this with rumored promiscuity, duels with the military and the Fed, some sort of inside knowledge about the parade route. and when that limo rounded the corner and entered a trianglization of fire, he was a dead man.
they not only used the mob to get elected, once they were in power they set out to destroy the mob. Frank Sinatra is luck he didn't get whacked.
I think mob job, lots of connections. Not the least of which is one Jack Ruby, a fatally ill mobster that bought somebody out to get to Oswald. The miracle bullet, the laws of physics, witnesses dying and several other factors lead me to believe that the Warren Commission was a joke.
