And remember, Iowa fans will be here and be here early. Most Gator fans will show up a couple of hours before kick-off. At the last Outback bowl with the teams, as I ate bacon and eggs and drank beer, the roads were filled with Gator fans. And by the way, along with arriving late, they left early.

How is Iowa the luckiest team in the world?

They have one of the Top 3 coaches in Div I / they have one of the Top 3 toughest fields to try and win on / their fans travel as well as any program in the country

Iowa has a class program and the Bowls know it

Couldn't have been too tough. Michigan won there this year.

Figures because I had Iowa. I can break more streaks.

When is Notre Dame going on the Iowa schedule?

C'Mon Fish, when you are drinking mai tai's with the Iowa AD, tell him that you want to get Iowa games on national tv and the only way is playing in South Bend on NBC. :103631605

Just a question ( I don't know the answer). Who has Iowa put in the NFL in the last 4 years. This may actually support your argument that Ferentz is a big time coach because I doubt they get the big time high school talent.

The only thing that ticked me off being a Michigan guy is that it snapped our streak of 9 straight Jan 1st or better bowl games. But dont worry we still got 31 straight bowl apperances and counting. Way more than anyone else. But Iowa diserved it just as much so I'm hardly mad. I just can't go to the game now.

And by the way last time Mich was in the outback bowl was in 02 against the same Florida team and it was a sellout. here's something else I happened to find. this is an excert written on July 28th of 1997 by the outback bowl press release.

The 1997 Outback Bowl remains as the highest rated program (5.3) on ESPN TV this year. The game was also seen in 129 other countries. "We are delighted to extend our relationship with the Outback Bowl which is the crown jewel of ESPN Bowl Week," said John Wildhack, Senior Vice President, Production for ESPN.

Also raymond james stadium didn't open until Sep of '98 so when Mich played there in 1997 they played in the old stadium and that place never, ever sold out. they had 1,000 empty seats when the super bowl was there.

But good luck iowa fans lets have a big 10 sweep this year.

By the way Mich has won 2 of the last 3 when visiting Iowa's pretty pink locker rooms.

And Iowa has put 18 players in the NFL in the last 4 years. And 30 currently active players in the NFL Most notibaly Robert Gallery. Thats pretty good. Mich has put 22 in the last 4 years. With 43 currently active players. Allthough I can say a Mich QB has won 3 of the last 4 super bowls. And they have 5 QB's in the NFl. Thats just sick every QB they have goes pro.

Not in the last 4 years but how about that Chuck Long. What a great QB he turned out to be in the NFL!

I met this pretty girl from Iowa. I got to talking to her, and some how we got on the topic of my next beach trip. This 30 year old educated, beautiful girl had NEVER been to the beach or experienced the ocean.... So I guess based on fishys comments of "got there early and stayed late", I can understand, when you spend your life in a blessed corn field how that would attract you to that beautiful state of Florida if only for a moment in time.....

One loss in what, their last 27 home games or something?

Would have to agree with DOC, not many places to invade and come away with a victory.

Iowa State has won 3 of last 4 in Iowa City.

What is Michigans motivation for this bowl game?

Good spot for the Cornshuckers possibly.

For the record, it is with much grief that I must say that I think that Neb has a snowball's chance in hell of winning this game.
