Did JR Smith have a Mobdeeper logical thinking moment to blow the game?

If you could freeze time at the split second that Smith gets the rebound and told me I could bet the Warriors at even money, that is something I would've been interested in.

If he goes up immediately then he might've had a shot. Even if he gets fouled, it would've had to be pretty bad to get called in that spot.

Maybe if he hits him with a pumpfake and gets KD in the air then refs have to call it but still less likely than likely. I'd say they were 25% to score when he catches the ball.

George Hill misses a FT to put the Cavs up by one and everyone is riding JR Smith. I can't stand the dude either but really?...

And they got the charge call right....Lebron slid over and hip checked KD, he wasn't even close to set. The charge rule is so bad, glad they had some common sense with that call.

Nah. They fucked that up. I agree I said block before they changed it. But they ruled it a charge after conferring with Tony Brothers. Mauer called it a charge. To go back and overturn that is a terrible move. I have never seen them change a charge call if the player was out of the restricted zone.

And you don't have to be fully set to get a charge call. It was a block because he wasn't in legal guarding position. He was moving to his left. But never seen them change that call in review. First time in NBA history. That's why everyone was confused because no one has ever seen it before. And to do it now???? That's fucked up. They got robbed imo.

If Hill hits the FT, Cavs probably go to about 75-80% to win the game.

When he misses and Smith gets s the rebound, they’re probably like 35% in that split second. He wasn’t in position to score at all. He’s JR Smith, only time he is in position to score is on a 3 pointer.

Then in OT they’re down to like 25%. The Hill miss was clearly the bigger play.

I disagree with you.

Scenario #1 Before the last free throw. He should have about an 80% chance to make it tying the game. The Warriors have over 4 seconds left down 1 with the ball advanced to the frontcourt. I'd say it's more like a 35-40% chance of a score/foul compared to your 25% .

So a 65% chance Cleveland wins and a 35% chance they lose.

Scenario #2 Hill misses the free throw as he did and Smith rebounds the ball and knows the score. He had almost 5 seconds left on that clock! Not a split second

- if he calls timeout immediately they get to inbound with a set play and have 4.5 seconds to score. I'll give that the same 35% chance I gave the Warriors above.

- if he dribbled it out and passed to a wide open Lebron at the top of the key he should it it about 35% of the time as well.

-if he took it right back up looking for contact I'd say there is a 30% chance of foul or score even with Durant in his face.

Any of those actions result in close to a 35% chance to win the game there . But the key is they have almost a 0% chance of losing it. It's almost a freeroll.

Thats why I feel Smith is more at fault then Hill. After the miss with the ball there and 5 secs left after the rebound the odds of Cleveland were better then before Hill took the 2nd shot.

If you think the Warriors or Cavs are 35% to win the game and score with 4 seconds left with the ball then I'd advise betting a lot of in-game bets with a team down 1 and 4 seconds left going forward. You either found a market inefficiency or you're wrong.

The block charge call was the biggest play of the game. I had no issue with the call of a block. But the fact they overturned it first time ever is fucking bullshit. That was the play that fucked over cleveland. Shouldn't even of been a george hill/jr. Smith situation.

And they missed at least two calls in favor of golden st before that block charge call. Horse shit

This play was a way bigger fuck up then what Webber did calling a time out and its not even fucking close. To not know how many time outs your team has left if one thing. To not know the fucking score with 4 seconds left and during a stoppage in play is a whole different league of stupid.

I hate LeBron.....But that foul call change was bullshit.

That ref was calling a offensive foul.

You cant change that.

I hate golden st. Lebron definitely does things I just laugh at because he's a drama queen. But in this series how can you not root for him and the Cavs? The refs fucked it up so bad and all people want to talk about is jr smith.

It is possible JR didn't realize what side of the court he was on with the way he was running to half court.

I could be wrong for sure. I don't follow live betting. What are the odds normally in that spot? Does it matter if it's top offense like GS and CLev versus say the Mavericks? How big of a difference does that make?

25%

I'd say it is lower given the stakes and attention to detail of the defense, especially on the road like in the Cavs case but 25% is ballpark.
