Did anyone here get into politics before Obama?

Might be in the minority since I'm in 20's, but I didn't follow or care about the political process til Obama came along. Now I'll probably follow the news and politics for the rest of my life.

I got into following politics during the summer of 2003 when I realized what Bush was doing to our country.

Pretty much a newbie here, I have been gambling a hell of a lot longer than I have followed politics.

Once you start it's pretty hard to walk away from.
I almost miss the old days when I could care less about current events.

Most if not all of the people that I have to deal with are christian conservatives.

I have to come here to vent.

I know it's much easier to be democrat here in Mass because the whole state is pretty much left. I think 90+ % of our state reps are democrats.

These are sucessful laws and were considered the most liberal in the world.

1.Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances
2.A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed
3.No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law
4.The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized
