I just became a father for the first time. I wanted to get your thoughts on diapers. With so many brands and so much money being spent on them. Fathers (or anyone who has changed diapers multiple times), what were your diaper(s) of choice or what diapers come to mind that you would never use again?

Huggies, all the other brands leak, I've got 4 kids including a 17 year old that I had by myself, so I was the one doing all the diapers with him. Huggies were the only ones that come morning time didn't leak every where.

could not disagree more....unless things have changed, because I have not changed diapers in 13 years or so, but Huggies were always more expensive...we found LUVS which were cheaper and much better. Can't believe I remember that. Congrats and good luck,

Congrats! What a feeling it is as I'm in the same boat with a newborn too...

Liked Pampers the best so far. The line indicator is very convenient, and they fold up better and wrap easier to get into the Diaper Genie than the rest of them so far (tried Huggies and Luvs also).

Ive actually heard great things about the dollar store type places diapers, but I haven't given any of them a try yet, but it is that first time to buy with my own coin tmw as the freebies from gifts are gone after today...

enjoy your little one as I'm finding out real quick they grow up too fast.

Haha, I agree, however I couldn't disagree more about the Luvs. They have been my least favorite so far. Weird that diapers may be a personal preference thing. Lol I hope I never have to give a review on Depends...

Huggies are more expensive but worth it. I have 4 kids 17 the oldest and 6 the youngest. LUV's leak after a full night, they're okay for during the day, but over night forget about it, they will leak. New borns it wont matter much cause you're changing that shit every 2-4 hour anyway, but once your baby starts sleeping through the night you don't want something that's going to leak, unless you don't mind waking up every few hours to change them at night.

Pampers and Huggies are roughly the same price. Gonna stick with those two, coupon and freebie dependent of course...

We swore by Luvs and they were less, but it is surely possible things have changed. No one ever believes us, but we have three kids and every kid slept through every night from the day they were born. I mean, a couple times one may have been 7 and had nightmare or something, but as babies, all 3 of my kids would be sleeping at decent time at night and wake up at 7am or whatever time it was. LITERALLY NOT ONCE did any of them wake...not sure I could have dealt with that, very lucky.

My first two were like that, lucky for me cause I was on my own with the first one, didn't remarry till he was 7. The last two could fill those diapers up with pee overnight though.

Another kind that I haven't tried but heard were good were the Costco brand, if you have a Costco.

Just curious. What do they ask you nowadays?

Used to be... Did you have a boy or a girl?

Now it's.... Did you have a boy, girl or transgender?

Buy in bulk and whatever brand you choose, stick with it until they are older or out of diapers. I remember changing brands (because one was on sale) and it caused a rash.

Been really lucky trying 3 brands with zero rash or butt paste needed. Lol we even started out with the Sensitive Skin ones which cost a little more to be sure bc I have those issues, but been good so far with whatever.
