Dallas -7: I really don't understand the Detroit love in this forum. Detroit only beat 1 team with a winning record this year for starters. Secondly Stafford is 0-17 vs teams with a winning record on the road. Not to mention he isn't that great of a qb. Dallas will pick him off twice if not more. I guarantee that. More over I'm sick of hearing about their defense. Packers rushed for 152 yards avg 4 yards per carry!!!!! The Dallas Oline will win the man on man match up so imagine what murray is gonna do. Plus there is no way Detroit can win by stacking the box cause Dez will put on a show come sunday. Oh don't forget the X factor in beasley. Kid is a quite beast. I'm sorry guys dallas wins by DD. Just my humble opinion. Good luck to everyone.

I hear ya sportscaster. I mean everyone and their mother in this forum, covers, etc... are in LOVE with Detroit and teasing them to 13/13.5/14. I just don't get it. I personally see a 17+ win by the boys today.

Only shot Detroit has in this one is to jump to an early lead and force Romo to throw it 35-40 times and let those great Detroit safeties grab a few INTS..

Not sure if I trust stafford to jump to an early lead, maybe REggie Bush breaks a long play for a TD.

Pick off Stafford twice or more? The Dallas D has played better the last 2 games but it was vs a Colts team playing for nothing and the Redskins. Last year Megatron set the the NFL record for reception yards in a regulation game in NFL history. If Detroit does throw 2 or more picks I do think Dallas will cover but I don't see that happening because Dallas has a hard time generating a pass rush which is the Lions weakness. Plus Dallas has one of the worst pass D's on the league. Dallas has to not give up the big plays and force the Lions to kick FGs.

Yes, GB pounded the Lions D but this is a different team historically indoors vs outdoors in the cold. Plus, the Cowboys do not have a real home field advantage in Dallas finishing 4-4. Three of Detroit's 5 losses were on the road vs teams that went 23-1 at home. I think this game is a toss up and in a toss up and 7 points is too much to give up. Not to mention if the Lions get down late they can chuck it vs this D to get the back door cover.

Det. beat only 1 team w/ winning rec./ 0-17 w/ winning rec teams on the road. But tell me how Homo rec in the playoff ? not great either. Remember Cam Newton never won in playoff and 0-2 vs of Ariz . Thing can chance , that how they called "record". I don't trust Homo in the big game neither Stafford, but def lines (Both teams) makes diff today. Im taking Under

709: u see the difference is, is that Detroit beat only 1 team with a winning record THIS YEAR. U are talking about romo in THE PAST. Romo has the BEST OLINE in front of him which is why he is having an MVP type of season. He doesn't have to carry his team on his back and force dumb throws that end up as int's. What happened to the so called "December Woes" this year?

Tacopants: Don't forget Detroit is second to last in YAC. That's scary for them especially when they gonna have to draw in a free tackler in the box. Dallas can run the zone/stretch/or the Bim-O which will dominate the man on man like I've stated.* Detroit were beat by DD against those teams on the road. What happened to their defense then?

Line at 6 now. Dallas is ready for a big playoff run and they can control games now with the run. Lions win because of great d but can they stop cowboys weapons enough ? Doubt it

for the past 7 or so years I've relied heavily on CHFF's defensive hog index to decide playoff sides and it's been remarkably accurate. Basically it's their way to statistically rank defensive front 7's which, in the playoffs, have had the best correlation to covering games (regular season the better correlation is qb rating differential)

the two biggest DHI's in the wildcard round are Baltimore (#5 vs #25) and Detroit (#1 vs #29). Honestly i can't remember a playoff game with a bigger differential than today's game so I'm on the Lions

Pitt offense doesn't come close to dallas though. Especially against the #1 offensive line. So personally I wouldn't rely too much on that info

Great thread and discussion, but this convinced me:

.

BTW, my local said he's getting pounded on Dallas, which also makes me feel good about my Detroit play (Philly Area). GL.
