Detroit Lions/NFL Week 6 Lines - what's looking good?

Of course hindsight is 20/20 but I still can't believe how shitty the lines were on the last 3 Detroit Lions games. -3 for Green Bay, -4 for San Fran and -3 for Chicago. Now it's -14 for Minny. As horrible as I thought the Lions were/are, I can't do anything with that line. Nothing. 'Bout time though.

Not only is Detroit extremely void of quality NFL football talent, they have horrible coaching and now some of the Lions are losing it on the field. In my best Mr. Lehey (from Trailor Park Boys): "what do you get when you mix shit players, with shit coaches & shit management...you get shit stew".

I don't know if I've ever seen a worse NFL team that what I've seen in the Lions thus far. Unbelievable.

Not liking a whole lot with this weeks machups:

I really like the under in the Chicago/Atlanta game. If I had to make a play now, this would be it.

My fav side might be getting Cleveland at home +8.

I think Jacksonville go rebound and go into Denver and get a win. Thinking of taking the +3.5 and ML.

What's catching your eye right now? Any strong leans or bets already placed?

I might start shopping around to see if there's a line on the Lions going winless the rest of the year, because it's looking like a distinct possibility right now. In spite of the Vikings looking mostly inept in their victory last night I still have them covering this big line versus the Lions this week. FYI my line on the DET/ATL game is really close on both the side and total.

I think the Cowboys are going to rape the Cardinals.

That's sexual assualt, brotha.

Cruncher: thanks for you input. I'm assuming you mean your numbers are close to the Chicago/Atlanta side & total (not DET/ATL).

scary thing is that i truly felt the lions were in a good spot this past weekend against chicago. lots working negatively against the bears. lots working in favor of the lions. but detroit is just bad news. i know thats putting it kindly, but really -- ill play some ugly dogs with no problem. i wont, however, put money behind teams that are capable of quitting. and i honestly think thats the case right now with marinelli.

It's really sad. Growing up in Michigan, and a football fanatic at the age of 5, I never developed any emotional attachment to the Detriot Lions. And I'm thankful for that. Feel sorry for any true Lions fans.

Prodigy, there are certainly have been signs of quitting. I haven't liked Marinellis for some time; he's a pound-the-rock guy but yet Martz was the OC the previous two seasons. He speaks of strong work ethic, integrity, accountibility, yadda, yadday, yadda and yet his players seemingly pout and bitch (for all to see) as they please when things aren't going well (see Kitna and Roy Williams). I don't see the players having a whole lot of respect for Marinelli.

Millen didn't do him any favors with his absolutely atrocious drafts over the past 6-7 years; but with the several Tampa Bay defensive has-beens on the team I have to believe Marinelli is partly to blame for this current defense so void of NFL talent. I don't know if you could find less talent on a defensive two-deep on an expansion team. In my opinion they only have one above average player for his position and that's Ernie Sims. Unbelievable.

If anyone has the time to listen to WXYT in Detroit (1270am or 97.1fm, think it's available on the web), listen to the afternoon show with Valenti and Terry Foster. Pure comedy, especially on Mondays.

I like Philly over 9ers. Philly will rebound from 2 straight losses, players only meeting called by Mcnabb will shake them up. I don't understand why the 9ers get so much respect, all their losses were not even close.

Staying away from the Lions game as well because the number is too big. Although there would be absolutely no shock if Detroit loses by 30. I like Tampa at home, Jax +3.5, Phil -4.5 and Dal/Ariz over
