I'm going to set a goal of going to one of them at least once this summer with at least $1000 and attempting to win $100,000 with suicide blackjack.

Geektown/MGM Bland/Motor Pity

Which one has the highest limit tables and what are their rules for splitting, doubling down, insurance?

If I go, I'd do the same thing I do with online casinos: maxi max on the first hand then go from there.

It's gonna be odd not sitting in my underwear, but I'll just have to adjust. I doubt the pitboss would let me wear my home uniform.

I know some posters here must have gone there. I'm aiming for a late July, early August showdown in Blowtown!

Not sure who has the highest limits and all the rules are your standard variety. Although I think Motor City has Spanish 21 if you are looking for something different.

MGM by far is the best in my opinion. Best crowd, best food and best floor layout. The others are kind of congested.

I'm doing some search engine research. I doubt I'll find out what I need to know by that, though. Anybody who has played there, I need those BJ limits. I'm going to the one with the highest.

I think the Casino in Windsor is BY FAR the best of the bunch, drive over the bridge and play there, the exachange rate makes it interesting too.

Dell- You'll need some kind of luck to do that.. Why not try to win in chunks of 3-4 g's, and build up some ammo.. At the mere $200 table limits we have at our casino, I've taken much more than $1000 from players in the blink of an eye..

Good luck whatever you decide to do

Home uniform? LOL. It is customary that the visiting uniform be without the "racing strips" in back.

Dell Dude,
How about selling me the book/movie rights to your life as a gambler. I'm serious. How about $20 by Neteller?

WINDSOR SUCKS! DO NOT PLAY THERE!

For a little bigger floor you are losing half your money just cashing in your American to start playing there. Most people don't understand this. So you get 50% more to play with. But their money is worth less so you have to win double just to start breaking even.

I.E. You go over there, cash in your money, play NO games and cash back out, you will of lost money. Bad, bad move. Stay out of Windsor.

All the limits will be basically the same Dell. All these cats are within a mile of each other and are competing for the same business. I like to help out and all but it ain't worth a trip down there for me to check it out for you.

I still like MGM, think you will too. That's the best I can offer you.

I'm definitely not going to Windsor. Too much trouble getting over the border, the exchange rate thing and I don't like hosers.

It'll be one of the Detroit casinos. I'd like to find a 10k limit, but realistically the best I'd probably get is $2000.

It could be a very short trip. I lose the first hand, or the second and third, that's it.

But if I get hot, I could have my 100K in less than an hour.

I wouldn't go unless not only I had at least $1000 but I was okay with losing all of it because 98% chance I would.

Right on Dell! Why would you want to go to Windsor when you can go to one of those rat hole casinos in Detroit. I mean what other casino can you go to and watch someone blow their head off at the Blackjack table. Or how about leaving the casino after a winning day and stopping for gas on the way home and get gunned down, Oh what fun!! Personally I love playing blackjack with a bunch of stiff chain smoking party store owners. I also get alot of fun out of watching the degenerate auto workers dumping their paychecks while the kiddies go hungry. I really like the story about the Farmington Hills guy who had a bad streak and went home and killed the wife and kids.

The best thing about the Detroit Casinos is all the losers, scumbags and thiefs hang out their and NOT Windsor anymore.

I'm not much of a casino player but I would'nt plat at either. But for me to set foot in a Detroit casino you would have to knock me out blindfold me and drag me in.

Come one. I don't believe they are that bad. Greektown I know isn't a shady area. They're Greeks for God sake! If they're anything like Spiro, they're harmless.

There probably are some degenerates there but that's true at any casino. I'll have to scope them out myself one of these days.

I should add I want one with easy entry and exit and with good parking accomodations. I don't necessarily believe I'd get knifed, but I wouldn't want to walk a half mile with $100,000 to my car in Detroit.

I prefer MGM, they didn't have the continuous shuffler bs last friday.

greektown's garage is a long walk away and its always crowded

motor city just blows, can't stand that place

park in MGM's garage and its very very close to the lodge and i75

i do think the detroit casinos suck, vegas is so much better.

kick some ass dell

LMAO Sorry Dell the only greeks in Greektown are the ones serving and cooking the food. Walk the streets outside and I guarantee you won't see too many Greeks, there about 20 miles north in the suburbs far away from that shit hole.

Casinos are for resorts, and Vegas NOT a blue collar city like Detroit. Atleast in Vegas you know the people can afford to jump on a plane and pay for a room.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

That portrait of Detroit casino's is totally wack Dicky. I suppose you would rather go to Reno and get caught in a Biker shoot-out? I would love to of been there for that just to show I was a big shot and could pay for a plane ride.

I will give you that this isn't a "gambling destination". But if you are here anyway this is a great place to throw down on some games. Motor City does have that continuous shuffle BS seemingly all the time but if Dell is playing big he can choose however he wants the cards to be shuffled.

We have no more problems here then any other city that has Casino's has. In over the 50+ years Vegas has been around there is probably a stack of news stories three foot thick of all the crime there exclusively because of the casino's.

MGM is the easiest to access IMO and Valet is free to everyone even if you don't play.

I have two stipulations or goals that have to be met before I'll go:

To have at least $1000 in expendable bankroll, and to be under 175 pounds.

I want to wear one of my $1000 suits when I go there, and right now ain't gonna happen. Let's just say I'm the plus side of 200.
icon_eek.gif

I could CONCEIVABLY do that by the end of July if I go fast and furious for 40 days and 40 nights. Definitely want to give it a shot. The last time I made a meaningful blackjack bet was in Vegas and I ain't goin back there unless I hit Level Three and weigh under 150.

I am a Detoiter and proud of it I lived there my entire life and still consider it home. I was opposed to the casino in Windsor and I was opposed to casinos in Detroit. The people who were for it thought it would be good for the city I did not. The only thing it's been good for is the government funded programs, GA, AA, welfare ect....
Bottom line IMO the city of Detroit is NO better now then it was before the Casinos.

I think you missed my point about Vegas, it's not about being a big shot. The people losing their asses in the Detroit casinos for the most part are Not tourists or recreational players their DG's.
I have been to each casino twice and they suck. 10 years ago I loved hanging out in Greektown now it's the last place I want to go.

As for Dell dude, Do you really think Dell needs me to tell him where to play? If so I say Mount Pleasant

Dicky,

I agree. But I will also take it a step further and tell you that it probably isn't any worse. If it wasn't a guy shooting himself at a table it would of been a guy shooting himself somewhere else. In fact it is a guy shooting himself somewhere else. Probably right now actually.

Granted it has turned Greektown into something totally different but it hasn't destroyed it by any stretch of the imagination.

The casino's have brought money into the Detroit economy that otherwise never would of been there. 5 years ago the only thing that brought people to the D from the Suburbs was the Red Wings. Now, not only do they come to visit the Casino's but they dump money into the surrounding areas that would of probably went under if not for this influx of cash.

Good, bad, who's to say. All I know is that these casino's or what they have created aren't any better or worse then any other city.
