Oren1, as I've said before - GB is the most overrated team in the league. The line is at (+6.5) & Detroit put together 42 yesterday. I think your money line is attractive.

Looks like Ferguson is out and, while x-rays were negative, Driver is labled as "week to week". I'm a big home town fan with Detroit and, even if Driver sits, I still think Farve is going to have a field day. Besides a couple nice plays by Bly, Detroits secondary looked awful against Arizona. Detroits nickle back Wyrick should be getting a thank you note from Boldin in the mail this week for letting him get his career game out of the way. Whichever Green Bay receiver that gets the pleasure of matching up against Wyrick next week, is probably already clearing off a spot on his mantle for his future game ball.

Good Luck

Packers have absolutely dominated this series in GB for a long, long time. With all due respect, this is what so many cappers do on Monday morning. They see one team get beat and one team win and then think a team like the Lions will win.

Look at the boxscore from both games.

GB and Minnesota both averaged 5.0 yards per play. While GB only rushed for 3.3 ypr, they held the Vikings to 4.3 yards per rush, which is way below what they did last year. GB actually passed for 5.8 yards per pass compared to only 5.7 yards per pass for Minnesota. So, from that perspective, they played the Vikings even, which is a far different story from what the final score would indicate. What was the problem? Five turnovers to only two for the Vikings.

Arizona completely out gained Detroit, averaging 6.5 yards per play to only 4.9 for Detroit, out rushed Detroit 4.8 to 2.9 ypr, and out passed Detroit, 7.2 to 6.5. What was the difference in this game? Turnovers, 3-0 in favor of Detroit. Throw in a punt return for a touchdown and you have a Detroit win. Another very misleading score.

I haven't made my final decision for this game but all I am saying is dig a little deeper and you may see a completely different story. Yes, the Packer injuries at receiver have to be accounted for but so does the fact they have completely dominated Detroit at home.

I agree with Stinky Fish and Sixth Sense. The Lions defense has more holes than fresh swiss cheese

Fish and Sixth, I think you guys talked me out of it. Thanks for the info... I'm leaning towards advalorem's opinion that Green Bay is overrated, but still... it sounds like Favre will probably torch the Lion's secondary. I think the Lion's might be a team on the rise while G.B. has lost a step... but I guess you still gotta give G.B. the benefit of the doubt.

Oren - I think you said it best. Detroit is on the rise and GB is starting to fall. Does that mean they don't beat Detroit SU this weekend? Who knows, but based on the stats from last week's games, the scores don't match and I think one needs to step back and at least consider all things. Good luck this weekend.

Don't fall in the trap here. Green Bay should win this game by 2 touchdowns.

yeah I don't know I like these 2 play teasers, but so far I'd be down if I hadn't bet more on the one I won. Maybe teasing Green Bay and the over would be a profitable gamble though.

Hey guys and gals

You need to remember one major thing when betting the NFL. No team is as bad as they looked last week, while no team is as good as they looked last week....Betting the NFL based on last weeks results is Ham'n Egger handicapping, done by total rookies and John Q "Sucker" Public...

Oh by the way, are u impressed with Detroit's spanking of the MOST pathtic team in the NFL next to the BUNGLES!!! I wouldn't get to worked up over Detroit's dominating of a team that Oklahoma and the Miami Hurricanes could beat. Arizona is SH*T, not only in the NFL but in college as well. Don't get caught up in Detroit's domination last week as they played a team similiar to The Little Sisters of the Poor....

Just remember when handicapping the NFL, No team is as good as they looked the previous week and no team is as bad as they looked the previous week (except AZ and Cinncy LOL)....This will help you alot in not becoming John Q Sucker Public who generally bases their NFL wagering on last weeks most recent results....

Yours in Winners

The over is the play here. This game may be over the total by halftime. Packers bringing in Freeman to help fill the void of banged up recievers. Came in with an attitude too. Wants to play and wants the cash. Hope they send him packing...

I love GB -6.5

I love GB -6.5 too much.

I love the over.

I am trying to figure out how probable it is that GB wins by only 4-6.

No way I take DET, just trying to figure out how much to put on GB.

Sixth makes a good point. Sometimes when a weak team wins they get respect on the line the next week. This only provides an opportunity to win money. Couple that with a loss on a good team and you have the perfect opportunity.

Detroit beat Arizona of all teams. They have been the whipping boy of the NFL since Bill Bidwill bought the team in the 30's. Green Bay needs to get some respect back after losing to Minnesota at home and Detroit will be their whipping boy.

the thing is I don't know how good Green Bay is anymore. It just looks like they've lost their touch, which could be attributed to lost players among other things. They were bitch-slapped by Atlanta last year in Lambaue in the playoffs for the first time ever. Looks to me like Minnesota might put up a fight for the division. Both of them have a solid quarterback but a dodgey backfield. Minnesota has Moss. If Favre doesn't torch Detroit's secondary, and ,makes a few mistakes, I think detroit might have a shot at covering the spread, lol. Green Bay could end up being this year's 2002 Rams.

I like GB at -6.5 here. Like guys have said, Detroit has quite possibly the worst secondary in the league. Favre will have time to throw and it could get ugly. I'm leaning toward the under as Detroit's offense is one of the worst as well. I say 7 points for Detroit, 24 for GB.
