i have this play as well... neither bullpen is particulary strong either. plus, detroit is hitting .312 the past seven games with a .383 OBP. i expect them to make quick work of mccarthy who was not produced great numbers this season (5.92 ERA, 1.447 WHIP). A big stat that favors this play that i really like is that mccarthy has surrendered 10 hr this season in just 38 innings of work. expect the tigers to hit a few, theyre averaging 8 runs a game in their past seven games and 7 runs a game overall at home. mccarthy also has an 8.40 road ERA where he has walked more guys than he has struck out.
