I was a huge Knicks fan during the mid sixties through the Ewing era. More of a casual fan now, but I would like to see them do well. Anyway, I think the biggest obstacle to the Knicks becoming a legit contender is James Dolan. He has no clue. I give the Russian all the credit in the world. Seems like a great move getting Williams. If he can sign him long term even better because it keeps him away from one of their rivals. While I would love to see the Knicks contend once again for a championship just having them be relevant would be a change. If Knicks and Nets both improve it only adds to the excitement. I do think the Nets owner is showing that he intends to make his club a contender.

But it's a lot easier to reinvent himself as putting the team first than it is to come up with that sort of talent.
