Just like the forefathers intended, I'm sure. Lots of incredible stuff in there, but this one blindsided me:
One in five Americans—the highest in the nation’s history—relies on the federal government for everything from housing, health care, and food stamps to college tuition and retirement assistance. That’s more than 67.3 million Americans who receive subsidies from Washington.
Hang on. If 20% of the population depends completely on government assistance, isn’t there whole life considered a “retirement”? What the hell possible retirement benefits could be offered? And why even bother going to school if you can just sit on your sorry ass all day long at home and collect free checks?
So, what's the answer to pay for this mess? Why, keep jacking up taxes on "the rich" of course!
Is this really how we want to be "compassionate" to our citizens? By crippling them from being able to accomplish anything on their own for the rest of their lives? I'm sure our friends on the Left will be along any second to explain how this is a good thing...
