Mayor of Bridgeport Joseph Ganim, Democrat

Joe held this position early in life, before spending 7 years in federal jail for taking bribes for everything and anything

it's how they roll, they love their convicts

Obama carried this great impoverished crime ridden city 32,000 to 5,000 in 2012

The largest city in CT only has one redeeming quality

"Some will call this a comeback story. For me it is a city that I never left. I never stopped caring about the challenges that people face in every neighborhood,'' Ganim told throngs of supporters who packed Testo's Restaurant. "Tonight we not only made history but defined a new course for this great state."
With strong support from the city's African American voters, Ganim easily beat back his top challenger, petitioning candidate Mary-Jane Foster, with Republican Enrique "Rick'' Torres finishing a distant third.

my guesser is they can restrict the right to vote, but not the right to work (except if you need a license)

at the end of the day, elections are up to "the people". Maybe we give "the people" too much credit and too much responsibility.

It seems wrong that people who exercise these least responsibility get to decide who wins elections, but that's the way it is

Votes are merely tallied, they're not weighed

He also faces a federal drug charge after police say they found more than 73 pounds of marijuana and more than $100,000 cash during a Porter County traffic stop.

Lake County Sheriff John Buncich said Battle did not request an absentee ballot to vote from the jail.

You don't have to think too hard about which party he belongs to.
