At INTERTOPS...

DeMarcus Corley v Zab Judah Special: Will there be a skirmish?

Simply select whether or not you think there will be a skirmish at the Weigh-in or Prefight Press Conference.
Fighters must physically touch one another.
Face to face blaspheme does not count.

YES -120
NO -120
------------------------------------------------ This is easy money. Zab Judah always starts something before a fight. And it's always at the pre-fight press conference or weigh-in. Heck, one time I seen him choke out the referee... the guy is friends with Tyson and acts just like him. He's nuts. Can't control himself. Check out the following article from Fightnews... Zab Judah has already attacked Corely. It's going to happen at the Pre-fight press confrence for sure.

News Brief
Corley: Judah not a man!
By T.E. Oliver
Current reigning WBO champion DeMarcus Corley declared today that the animosity between himself and Zab Judah is genuine. The rift between the two fighters developed when Corley told a reporter he would "destroy" Judah while both were attending a press event in Philadelphia. Corley said Judah then sucker punched him. "There wasn't bad blood at first but now it's real...and there will be real bloodshed. He's immature." Corley stated. "Judah is not a man. He's a boy and now it's personal." When asked about the speed difference between he and Judah, Corley concluded that it could be an ugly fight if Judah chooses run and that since he is the champion Judah must come to him. Corley also stated that he hoped Judah's chin was truly suspect as suggested by some in the press, because he plans on hitting him on it when they meet July 12 at the Orleans in Las Vegas.

You know what? I've actually met the guy once and he is totally the opposite as to what you think. He really is one of the most personable guys that Ive ever met. If you go up to him and say hi he'll sit down and talk to you like your a good friend. When he thinks somebody is calling him out is when he gets wild.

He's not a punk thug like you think. But I can see why people think that because when he gets wild he gets really wild.

O-kay. But this is boxing dude. Judah becomes can't control himself when someone speaks down to him... he's already punch Corely in the face during a press confrence... so lay off with the puppy dog crap. When has pre fight skirmishes all the time, which makes me believe taking the YES on this bet is a good move. $$$

Trust me, it's gonna happen.

Judah will use his knowledge of the '52 Blocks' to unravel Corely.

Trivia.............. anyone know or seen this system of fighting? If I had not witnessed it myself in '88, I would have called bullshit, but there is something to it IMO.

You need to think about something here. Being that they have already gotten to it dont you think that they are going to make it really hard to get in it again at the press conference or weigh in? I've seen them take steps in similar instances (vargas vs dlh) to make sure it dosent happen again.

Actually the smart money would be on the "no".

This stuff is normally done for publicity. It wasn't televised, so they'll do it again.

I just found out that ticket sales are VERY slow for this event... they'll have a public skirmish just to bring up ticket sales. For sure.

If you're actually betting on this crap, you have a serious problem. Seek help.

Judah and Corley already had there confrontation, there won't be another. As for slow ticket sales, Corley-Judah isn't even the main event. If they do something to try to hype the event it will be with Mayorga and Forrest.

what's the difference between betting on this and betting on a sporting event? they both hold risk, and can both be analyzed in hopes for gaining an edge. My feeling here is the "no" is the way to go

I'm exactly with valdosta. When fighters have a skirmish before a fight it only happens once, not twice. This thread is talking me into betting against it.

Ticket sales are slow? You apparently don't know very much about boxing attendence here in Vegas, and more specifically at the Orleans. Last Friday at the Orleans there were about 50 people for the first fight of the bi-monthly card. By the 3rd fight the place was over 75%
full, with more coming in. The Orleans is a locals joint that is extremely popular and packed on the weekends. This is a terrific card
and attendance will be good.

Yes I am. Plans are to go to the Orleans and
and eat at the buffet, then go in. I'll be with
my buddie who I attend a lot of fights with and
perhaps another guy who loves boxing. Am told
the layout is real nice and practically all the
seats are decent.

Last time I listened to a bookmakers opinion was
when Trinidad fought Hopkins. I had some reservations
about betting Tito, but I get into a conversation with a guy at Caesars here, and I go with Tito! 5 dimes go south. Also a clown at
the Mirage about 2 years ago is telling me how BAD Kosta Tszyu is, another sports book stupidvisor. Yea, Joey is a boxing guy, but why
would he come here and give us an HONEST opinion
while working for Spiro? As far as I'm concerned, this is the same as fraternizing with
the enemy.

Here are my thoughts... I say Judah gets Ko'd... and Forrest wins a close DEC... or it's a draw. Intertops has round betting if anyone is interested.

guys....i`ve seen reports on the internet indicating judah hasn`t looked good in training......from the so called "insiders".....

well, that may or may not be true...but,the more i look at this bout, the more i sense that corley might be over estimated in many peoples eyes....i keep hearing about his bouts with randall bailey and ener julio....because,he really doesn`t have anyone else on his resume of note...but,how good are julio and bailey?

to further make my point on everyboby swooning over corley beating randall bailey and ener julio.....here`s the ring`s top 12 jr welters..... Kostya Tszyu
2. Zab Judah
3. Arturo Gatti
4. Sharmba Mitchell
5. Richard Hatton
6. Vivian Harris
7. DeMarcus Corley
8. Miguel Cotto
9. Jesse James Leija
10. Diosbelys Hurtado
11. M. Abdulaev
12. Juan Valenzuela

where are julio and bailey?...and i checked the alphabet ratings....julio and bailey are 10 and 12 in the wba.....no other governing body has them rated.......the more i look into this bout, the more i get the feeling that corley ain`t as good as some are trying to make him out to be....at least based on his opposition...this is a HUGE step up in competition for corley....

i see why corley is taking this fight....he`s 29 years old and judah is 24....judah is coming off a layoff....a fairly inactive period in his career....but,so is corley....2 fights in 2 years isn`t exactly active...they probably figure that if they ever have a shot at beating a top guy like judah, now is the time...

but corley`s resume ain`t all that.....and julio and bailey aren`t even in the ring top 12....as a matter of fact, julio just lost a lopsided decision to prospect hercules kyvelos...a one sided decision....

julio and bailey are very slow.....bailey is about as one dimensional as they come...he has mucho power...but can`t box a lick....

my point is,these guys really aren`t the cream of the jr welterweight division.....judah,tszyu,mitchell,cotto and some might say gatti.....actually,i`d put vivan harris right up there with gatti....i think these 2 are a shade below this group....the bailey`s and the julio`s are well down the list....

maybe i`m wrong....maybe corley catches judah early.....judah`s chin isn`t world class...we know that now....i just don`t think these guys are in the same class...

corley seems to slow down as his fights go into the later rounds...we`ll see...
