let's start into another winning weekend on german ice.
So far this season 35-11 (+27.79 units)
two plays for friday:
Nürnberg - Köln (gametime 1.30 p.m ET): köln to win (2.2) for 1 unit
simply going with the stronger and hotter team here.
köln,the defending cahmp and league leader, is comeing off maybe their best game of the season. they won 4-0 at home against mannheim in an inspired game on sunday. the way they played against a strong mannheim team (also one of the best three in the league) should give them an extra boost to their confidence... and this was high before that game. köln right now is really focusing on getting the top spot in a close race between the first three teams and is playing great defense right now + a the best power play in the league.
this should be enough to get an away win over nürnberg, which is just not playing solid hockey at the moment. they struggle to get points against weak teams, playing lots of close matche there and are loosing against the top teams. they are also not very strong at home.
Kassel - Mannheim (gametime 1.30 pm ET): Mannheim to win (2.2) for 1 unit
mannheim, one of the three dominant teams in the league, struggled lately in away games ( 3 losses). this is an area, where they are usually the top team in the league. Funny thing is that all three losses came against teams of the same area in germany (it'S like loosing on a west coast trip to LA,San Jose, but winning in all other playces in the country).
they were dominant in away games before these three and they played good hockey in sunday's loss against köln. meanwhile they are winning all their home games quite easy, so there is defenetly no slump. I look for them to get back on track and get an away win here against a much weaker team than the three they lost before.
kassel, even though the found a little bit of form lately, is still one of the weakest teams in the league, and i don't think they can hold off a mannheim team which will put everything in this game to stay in the hunt for the top spot with berlin and köln.
BOL to all and see you on saturday for sunday's DEL games.
