The injury isn't known to be serious, so D-Will owners shouldn't panic yet. Jonathan Stewart (heel) also got his routine Wednesday off. Keep an eye on this situation, but both members of Carolina's "Double Trouble" backfield should be ready for Week 10. They'll face Atlanta's porous run defense.

Williams will almost certainly start, along with backfield mate Jonathan Stewart (heel). Williams has an excellent matchup with the Falcons and is a very solid RB1 play. He's run for 548 yards with five touchdowns in his last four games.

While it's good news that Williams is walking without a limp, the team won't know his status until assessing his health and cutting ability in pre-game warmups. The Panthers-Falcons game has a 1PM ET start. We expect him to play, but you'll have to check back at noon Sunday to know for sure.

</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top colSpan=3>According to NFL Network's Jason La Canfora, the Panthers won't know DeAngelo Williams' (knee) status until pre-game warmups.
La Canfora mentions that the Panthers are "banking" on Jonathan Stewart being ready, potentially for an every-down back role. It's unlikely that rookies Tyrell Sutton or Mike Goodson would see significant carries should Williams be inactive and Stewart start. Williams will "see how he feels" after warmups, then the Panthers will decide whether to activate him. We're still betting he toughs this one out in a very big game for Carolina.

Jonathan Stewart - RB - Panthers Jonathan Stewart is expected to see increased carries even if DeAngelo Williams (knee) plays Sunday against Atlanta.
The report comes from FOXSports' John Czarnecki, who is wishy washy when it comes to accuracy, but the idea makes sense even if it's just speculation. Stewart is a stronger flex play than usual. We'll know whether Williams will be active in roughly 45 minutes. We're expecting him to play. November 15

Williams will play but may lose touches.

DeAngelo Williams will "definitely" play Sunday against Atlanta, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The official inactives will be up momentarily, but this was pretty much expected all along. Jonathan Stewart is expected to see more carries either way, but Williams has a favorable matchup and is safely an RB1. Nov. 15 - 11:28 am et

Williams was "questionable" and barely practiced last week as well, but went onto average 4.8 YPC on 19 carries and catch a 30-yard pass against Atlanta. D-Will practiced Tuesday and isn't known to have aggravated his injury. He is increasingly losing red-zone work to Jonathan Stewart, but will likely play against the Fins. Consider him a high-end RB2 in the difficult matchup.

Williams has missed two straight practices, but he's expected to be back out on the field Friday. Though Williams has missed quite a bit of practice time over the past month, it's yet to affect his performance. Consider him a RB1 against the Bucs Sunday.

This is either a matter of Williams getting rest so that he's 100 percent, or the Panthers playing injury report games. Coach John Fox has already admitted that Williams is fully expected to start Sunday versus Tampa Bay, and anyone who saw D-Will's "injury" last week knows that it wasn't serious. Williams gashed the Bucs for 172 total yards and two touchdowns in their meeting earlier this season. He's very likely to be active for Sunday's 1PM ET game.

DeAngelo Williams - RB - Panthers According to beat writer Darin Gantt, there's been no sign of DeAngelo Williams (ankle) warming up on the field Sunday morning.
There's nothing official yet. Signs were pointing toward Williams playing during the week, but his status is up in the air Sunday morning. For what it's worth, Scout.com's Adam Caplan believes it's "not looking good" or Williams this week. Get him out of fantasy lineups until we hear otherwise. December 6

Coach John Fox expected Williams to play on Thursday, but he must have taken a turn for the worse. Jonathan Stewart will see in excess of 20 touches in a decidedly run-heavy gameplan with Matt Moore seeing his first start of the season. Start Stewart as a Top-10 fantasy option in all leagues.

Jonathan Stewart's one-week stint as Carolina's every-down back is over. Williams, whose ankle sprain wasn't severe in the first place, should be close to 100 percent for Sunday's game against the Patriots. He immediately resumes RB1 status, and has a favorable matchup with a New England run defense that ranks a middling 15th overall and surrenders 4.3 yards per carry.

Williams left late in the first quarter with a left ankle sprain, and a similar injury caused him to miss Week 13. It's pretty likely that this is an aggravation because Williams was not allowed to return Sunday night. Jonathan Stewart becomes an RB1 fantasy play if Williams is out for Week 16.

Jonathan Stewart (toe) did too, but he always gets Wednesdays off and will play Sunday against the Giants. Williams' status is completely up in the air at this point. He aggravated an ankle injury in Carolina's Week 15 upset of Minnesota and did not return. Check back later this week for updates.

Williams is taking a bad track toward Sunday's game against the Giants, but he's still considered questionable. We may have to wait until Sunday morning to find out if he's active. Meanwhile, Jonathan Stewart (toe) returned to practice as expected.
