Interesting article, however, I respectfully disagree. Ortiz should be in the top 10. This article was written before this series correct?

yes i believe so

I will stop watching baseball if Ortiz gets into the HOF and Edgar Martinez doesn't. The two aren't even comparable.

david ortiz to me has been one of the most consistant mlb players i know.he is having a great year if you ask me,and still has a lot of drive at age 37.

when he is done playing do you think he has a chance to get in the hall of fame some day.

lets look at his stats

avg-.287
hr-431
hits-2023
rbi-1429
ob%-.381
slg-.549
ob slg%-.930
all star-8 times

i could have posted other stats but i figured the main ones should do.

so what do you think about david ortiz,i really like the guy and always have

edgar martinez

AVG-312
HR-309
HITS-2247
RBI-1261
OB%-418
SLG-515
OBSLG%-933
ALL STAR-7

NOT REALLY TOO MUCH DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THEM,.....EDGAR PLAYED 1 SEASON MORE ALSO

Yeah!!! What did Ted Williams ever win? Or Ernie Banks? Or Robin Yount? Or Griffey Junior?

Those guys sucked! Names forgotten!

Um, you said the comparison wasn't even close. Fact is, the numbers don't lie, Ortiz leads in most of the categories. ROFL. Care to restate?

Martinez has higher BA, 200 more hits and a higher OB %. Ortiz a better power hitter, Martinez a better pure hitter

playing one year more and that is what you get,a year extra of numbers.if both played the same amount of years it would be pretty even......lets face it,your not going to win this argument

Its not an argument, its an opinion. I love Ortiz, but dont think hes as good of a hitter as Martinez. To argue which of the two is better is not a slight on either of them
