The last of the greatest imo. Still the best interviewer in the business. But when a show as poor as Jimmy Fallon's starts beating you in the ratings, then maybe it's time to hang it up.
Yeah, the writing was pretty much on the wall. This is a young person's world. And the networks are always looking for new blood. Lettermen is still much better than Fallon when it comes to interviewing his guests. But he's never been a strong stand up comedian.I don't know what the hell you guys are talking about.
The reason for him leaving is obviously CBS is scared that Jimmy Fallon's audience will keep growing. Most of Letterman's views are in their 50's.
