Ok I just finished watching his street magic show on TLC and this son of a gun levitated? Does anybody know how the hell he did this? He had no wires or strings or anything? The card tricks are something else but this took the cake?

I had front row for Copperfield years ago.

He pulled out a balloon, blew it up, tied it, flicked it in the air, then inserted a playing card inside it.

Wiggled it inside. Then reached in and removed it.

10 feet away. Still can't believe it to this day.

Yes, Blaine is quite a cat.

To see this stuff live plays with your mind.

I watched a show that revealed how David Blaine does his "street" magic. The levitation trick is done with a wire and a crane that picks him up. It is then edited into the show to make it look like it is done in front of the people that are on the street. When he does his levitation trick in front of the people it is far less impressive and only one foot leaves the ground.

Beleive it or not you can do all of blaines magic with about 50 bucks worth of supplies.

He uses all sorts of fixed card decks - the levitation is called a balducci levitation - and he used camera tricks (very cheap).

Notice also that he usually gets drunks, homeless, and derelicts for his tricks - they are easily impressed.

Was going to say.... I saw him do the levitation indoors in a somewhat small room. Would have been hard to have a crane and wire. Regardless, its a cool trick.

Once they remove al the smoke and mirrors and you see how they actually perform these tricks, you think to yourself "DOH"/

one of my friends can levitate. he stays on one foot, he does it just like blaine does it on the street. From the right angle it looks pretty cool though.

I guess that explains his popularity on this forum.
