Akers confidence can't be too high going into the Super Bowl. He looked totally whipped after missing that field goal. I wonder if any team has ever picked up a different kicker for the Super Bowl when the starter wasn't hurt.

I wouldn't trust him with the game on the line.....both him and Crosby are a waste of a roster spot.

I will never forget the 2011 wild card game vs. GB where he missed a 34 and 41 yard FG and the Eagles lost 21-16. He makes those FGs and the game is completely different. I honestly think the winner of that game was going to the Superbowl because Atl and Chi were fraudulent and Seattle made the playoffs at 7-9 and shocker, could not win a game away from home. I think steelers/Eagles would have been a pick'em in the Superbowl.

akers will kick better in the superbowl I would think.. he has to overcome the hump and get back on track at some point .. no better time than now :toast:
