After almost 2 years on this forum I've decided to start a picks thread to hopefully give something back in return for all the good info. I've gotten from here over this time...

The format will be a single running thread as this is the style used by the legendary Railbird (wish he'd come back!).

I will post 2 plays per day (daily double) except Saturdays when I will post 6 plays (triple double) owing to the large number of games. They will all be for one unit.

The line I will use will be the best among IIS, Hollywood and Pinnacle at the time I post my play. These are my 3 favorite shops and I don't believe in posting a line from a book that nobody has an account at.

My handicapping system is a new computerized approach which combines recent stats, public preferences and situational factors. Don't ask me for the formula because that is my little secret. The system in its present form hasn't been tested yet but I am optimistic and I can assure you that I will be putting my own hard-earned $$$ behind every one of my plays.

I plan to continue this for the entire season but if I lose more than 10 units I'll probably stop and spare ourselves from further misery.

Enough talk, here are today's plays:

YTD: 0-0 0.00 units

Indiana +16 -107 (Hollywood)

NC Charlotte -3 -103 (Pinnacle)

UAB -4.5 -107 (IIS)

Utah +4.5 -112 (IIS)

Geo Washington +5 -104 (Pinnacle)

Coll. Charleston +1 -103 (Pinnacle)

GL let's make some $$$!

Not great, but not bad either, an even split including a heartbreaking triple overtime loss. Let's see if we can do better today...

YTD: 3-3 -0.22 units

Mississippi State +3 -107 (Hollywood)

George Mason +14 -107 (Pinnacle)

Another day another split...I feel good about these two today...let's break the ice and go 2-0 for a change...

YTD: 4-4 -0.29 units

Georgetown -10.5 -107 (Hollywood)

St. Peter's +2 -107 (Hollywood)
Let's do it!

Hey, looks like I'm pretty good at this -- getting splits that is. It's no fun just paying the juice every time, but remember that getting a split is just as hard (or easy) as picking a side on a single game, so we know something's got to give soon...

Tonight (Tuesday) this is what the magic formula gives...

Tuesday's plays:

YTD: 5-5 -0.36 units

North Texas +22.5 -109 (Pinnacle)

St. Joseph's -5.5 -107 (Hollywood)

OK this isn't funny anymore...every day split so far...I guess all you have to do is place two 2-team parlays using one of my plays and fading the other and you're guaranteed to be ahead...actually I'd only recommend that if you can get good numbers at a book that gives decent parlay payouts otherwise it's rather suicidal. What I recommend most is just making straight wagers on each of my plays...we will get there eventually.

Wednesday's plays:

YTD: 6-6 -.45 units

Wright State -1 -101 (Pinnacle)

Purdue +4 -107 (Pinnacle)

Well it looks like I got my wish -- the streak of splits has ended, but not exactly in the way I had hoped. Sorry guys for that horrible day yesterday. Wright State made it interesting but Purdue just forgot to show up.

But one bad day does not a disaster make. We only bet one unit at a time so we can make it through the tougher times. My definition of disaster is being 10 units down. Until that point we just keep on fighting...

Thursday's plays:

YTD: 6-8 -2.53 units

Massachusetts

Illinois/Georgetown UNDER

Hollywood and IIS don't have their lines up yet so I will use the best line at 7:15 pm eastern (I will post these at that time) but I figure it's better to post the plays now so everyone doesn't have to scramble at the last minute.

I was with you on both of those, Darryl. Wright St should have won, and Purdue just isn't playing with any confidence right now. But solid picks, nonetheless. Keep fighting, and thanks for your insight.

Darryl, I'm watchin' your plays very closely. Thanks for postin'. By the way, That ILLINOIS Under looked like a lock with 3 minutes left. Then it looked like it was gonna lose with 30 seconds left. Nice missed free throw for the push. Crazy.Good Luck and keep postin'.

Thanks Korn...nice avatar btw, I really get a kick out of Beavis + Butthead.

Last night we finally made some progress. Too bad Hollywood and IIS didn't have lines for the total or we could have gone 2-0. I have a feeling there were some better lines out there. Anyway, 1-0-1 is a perfectly fine result. Another small card tonight and still I had to narrow it down from 3 decent plays to 2. The other one was UAB/OK St UNDER but it is just a lean and not a play.

YTD: 7-8-1 -1.53 units

Friday's plays:

Tennessee Tech +7.5 +103 (Pinnacle)

UAB +16.5 -107 (IIS)

Looks like we're back to our splitting ways again...but not for long...with Saturday's big card and 6 plays a split will not be so easy to do...I smell a 4-2 day with a move to the plus column coming up...

No lines at IIS or Hollywood just yet but I figure I'd best get the plays out early since the first one already goes off at noon. Will be back close to game time with the lines.

Saturday's plays

YTD: 8-9-1 -1.53 units

718 Purdue
729 Mississippi
736 Youngstown State
796 Long Beach State
798 San Diego State
820 Delaware
