FVCK that liberal bitch Shira A. Scheindlin.

That's what you get for letting a woman decide a FB issue.

College football has been dealt a serious blow. It will have a dramatic impact over time.

College football may have been dealt a blow, but an American citizen's freedom to pursue his dream is still alive.

I don't need Art Modell, Mike Brown and the other NFL owners telling me how old I have to be to work.

Who wouldn't want to have college football players "work" for free? College football is an exploitation - and if they lose their best players to the NFL, I won't shed a tear.

I smile at people that want a kid like Clarett to play football at the college level because THEIR Saturdays would be more fun - if THAT is not selfishness, I wonder what is.

I just don't think the NFL and NBA should get a free development system - people talk about the student athlete needing a stipend. Would the NBA and the NFL step up to the plate and pay the athletes $100 per month? No - because they're all greedy bastards that want a free development league. I want to see high school players jump to the NFL and FORCE the greedy bastards to create a development league and PAY FOR IT.

Edited my post as I will not get into politics here. But for football it is a dark day. And there is a good chance this will hurt more players then help. Ask Korlean (sp) Young and alot of other guys who thought they were gonna play in the NBA

Don't look at ONE player - that is what the NFL will make you do. This is the bottom line:

There are so many roster sports (12) on each team in the NBA - and there are so many teams (32?) so the number of players are fixed. If one player doesn't make it, someone else will.

I see no reason to be worried about a guy like Korleaone (whoever he is) because had he made it in the NBA another player would have been cut. So if I wanted to look at it another way, Korleone Young was going to take food off someone else's table

... and then again, when he left college, he allowed someone else to get a scholarship they would not have gotten had he stayed.

The number of roster spots is limited, so if someone doesn't make it, someone else will.

All I want to know is: WHAT HAS THE NFL DONE TO HELP COLLEGE FOOTBALL?

NOTHING

I am looking at #'s. Yes there is more roster spots in football then basketball but there are also more roster spots in college football full of kids thinking they are ready when they are not. The numbers are relevant to the sport.
One case? There are so many cases of failures it's to numerous to list. There have been many more failures then successes my friend. But your point is taken, NFL and NBA should so something. This decision really hurts the sport of football.

I really don't think this will impact CFB at all compared to the NBA. Just look at how many top-notch high school recruits don't even work out in D-1 football. It's enough of a gamble for a coach to use a scholarship. Any NFL owners going to take the same gamble with millions of $$?

BTW LSUPete, a late congrats on the Sugar Bowl from a Sooner fan.

CFB has only itself to blame.

they KNEW clarrett would take them to court and fight the draft status if he was suspended for the entire season - and they still chose to do what they did.

if the ncaa suspends clarrett for 4 games - then lets him come back - he (probably) doesn't sure the ncaa and NONE of this happens. he is still at osu getting ready for his junior season.

sorry - the ncaa is to blame here. this judge only ruled what 99% of other judges would have ruled.

This idiot Clarett has done more to help college football in the last 5 days than he could have had he just stayed at OSU. By showing that he is an immature, out of shape ,clueless bastard, he shows why the NFL isn't in the business of drafting 20 year olds.

Boo hoo! Now some kid gets the right to participate in a league when they're 19 or 20 and what is wrong with that. I agree my beloved college football will suffer with the early deflections but come on they have the same right to work as any high schooler coming into the NBA, playing minor league baseball even major league baseball and etc. I don't need Pauly T. telling me when I can suit up Sunday. If I'm not ready then I'll be riding the pine and notice it was a mistake. My point is that it should be their choice to make, not some old fart with a suit on.
