they would be foolish to let burris go. ward has to be getting close to the end of his career. no good having a qb if he doesnt have anyone to catch the ball.

There's always next year, like in 75, 90-93, 99 &

Who do they have their eye on?

Rothlesberger?
Manning?

Other top 10 guys off the top of my head
Fitzgerd
R. Williams
Winslow
DeAngleo Hall
The Tackle in Iowa

I can't see them moving up for a RB ... there aren't really any great ones IMO.

Kevin Jones is about it. Maybe Jackson from OSU?

I disagree RPM...Ward has good few years left...Burris is a great tall reciever...but he is suspect with his work ethic IMO following him all year with the steelers. would be a good trade for a top QB or RB if they can

Maybe the Steelers could work out a deal to trade rosters with Southern Cal. That would give em a chance to go 8 and 8 this year.

Raiders have the 2nd pick. Hmm New coach with an aging roster

Cards have the 3rd pick. Hmmm New coach, cheap owners, and crappy roster.

When does Blax contract run out?

pitt trades up to #2 to get local boy larry fitzgerald. makes sense. raiders need a WR to replace brown and rice when they leave (and it could be before this year - ??) - so they get plexico - who is a decent WR and get a pick 6 spots later.

not a bad trade for both parties if it comes about.

Not to mention the fact the Fitzgerald may not turn out to be better, of even as good as Burris. Then again he could be the next Marvin Harrison. The Raiders get a proven wideout and a shot at a starter with the 8th pick. Risky to say the least for the Steelers imo. A no brainer for the Raiders, unless they are going to take a shot at getting Manning, which would make a lot of sense for them.

NICE TRADE IMO WINKY. but its still tough to get rid of a solid young reciever.

Sounds like a good news story. Not sure it makes that much sense for the Steelers though.

I think it is too early to give up on Plaxico. The guy did have 1100-1300 yards rec in 2002 and 6-8 TDs if my memory serves me correctly. Why not keep him and make improvements elsewhere.

My view is that if you are going to trade Plax to move up, then grab a QB and really take a shot at getting better in the future at a position that really matters.

IMHO, a team doesn't need to spend a top 5 draft pick on a WR, the relative value at that position later in the draft is generally much higher than it is at QB/RB.

One last note...Plax has proven that his performance is attitude dependent. When he was getting looks and working on the field he was a stud. Someone needs to step up on Pitt to tell him to be a professional AND have him speak with Randy Moss who would tell him to "get his head right."

Plax has the talent to be a top 10 receiver in the league and I wouldn't trade he and my 11 pick to try to get someone who MAY be a top 3.

IMO, Burris is legit. Yes, he had a down year, but his numbers the prior year were SOLID. They need a RB. I don't think a trade is in their best interest.
